All welcome to join in

First race: 4.28 - please post selections before 4.13

Rules:

1. Make a selection in each race

2. Count your selections and make sure you haven't missed any races out

3. Please name the selections, 'FAV' or race card numbers are not permitted

4. Please have your picks in 15 mins before the first race. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED

5. Abandoned meetings: Only meetings where at least 4 races have been run will count towards overall scoring. In the event of incomplete meetings naps will not count double and half points will apply to the overall scores.

6. Naps & NRs

NRs can only be changed up to 15 minutes before the first race - otherwise your selection will be switched to the favourite (lowest card number if joint or co-favs).

If your Nap is a NR, it will be switched to your last-named selection that runs unless changed at least 15 minutes before the first race.

If more than one nap is nominated, the first one will stand, and likewise if more than one selection is given for the same race, the first one will stand.

Any confusion regarding what the nap is (eg none given), then the nap will go on to the last-named selection on the card that runs, unless clarified at least 15 minutes before the first race is off.

7. SCORERS DECISION IS FINAL

Problems Posting on the Forum
If there are patently problems accessing the forum for many, the comp on such days will be voided.

Thank you

One selection per race
One nap per meeting, double points awarded

Winner selected scores 7 points
Second selected scores 3 points
Third selected scores 1 point

If SP is greater than 6/1 points are doubled
If SP is greater than 12/1 points are trebled
If SP is greater than 20/1 points are quadrupled
If SP is greater than 28-1 points are quintupled.
If SP IS EVENS OR SHORTER POINTS ARE HALVED (i.e a 4/7 winner scores 3.5, a napped 10/11 second scores 3)

The overall leaderboard is posted on the Your Comps Forum

There will usually be one meeting a day to select at including Sundays, except for AW Finals day when there are two meetings to end the season with.

Hi everyone--hope all is well

I have a query regarding overweight, where can you find overweight before a race is run?---this is a quote from the BHA,but is useless to punters not on the course.

If the rider is too heavy, he may be replaced by another rider, or be permitted to carry ‘overweight’, which will always be announced on the racecourse before a race begins. However, no rider is allowed to weigh out at four pounds or more over the weight he is set to carry. Once they have weighed out, riders are not allowed to change their equipment, and may be fined if they are found to be doing so.

Hi Roy

It's very rarely on a race card before a race Roy just announced on course/TV - I normally only see it on the results card.

Hi V---yes that is my problem--I seem to remember years ago--that there was a site that would print overweight's, before the race, after the announcement at the course.---I am sure it was not  only betting shops, that would up-date on the live broadcast from the track,--and I do not watch, via TV. --It's just with my own ratings ( which are going well) I only find out when I assess the results--and find out I should not have picked that horse because the 2lb overweight, would have made a different horse top rated,

Hi Roy, certainly for Irish cards, though not so sure about U.K ones, potential overweight warnings are highlighted in the R.P paper version, and presumably online too.

So for example on Feb 9th at Dundalk, at the bottom of the card, it stated a possible 2lb overweight for Next Week, and he did indeed carry an extra 2lb.

I presume it's being calculated from the jockey's minimum weight in the past 12 months, so they should do it for UK cards too.

Thanks George--Yes I have seen (possible overweight) and as you say it probably refers to lowest weight carried in the last 12 months, But I have seen cases of jockeys riding in races at many pounds over there lowest weight.--in a year you can put on a lot of weight !!
