general custer was in top tipping form this month. For the period 4th to 29th he notched 14 winners, 8 seconds and 3 thirds. Not that the placed horses earn any points but it shows how virtually everything he selected was there or thereabouts. So hearty congratulations are due and let's see more of that in the Prem!
NonVintage finished in second place, having looked the likely winner when he landed a 17/2 followed by a 6/1 on the 25th and 26th. In the end he couldn't cope with general custer's consistency and lost out by 1.17. 3rd was SontaranStratagem with a 16/5 winner today and a run of four on the trot. A Division 1 stalwart, he deserves his chance in the Prem and is the type of napster who could stay there for a long while. Aquarius and Hilly filled 4th and 5th spots - both seasoned campaigners who've been there before. Good luck this time and well done on your performance this month. Well done to all promotees who have come through a month where the weather has played a big part. halcyon days was the only other winner today with a 4/1 shot and so achieved safety in mid-table. bluenose7 was the only hard luck story of the day with a 9/1 second. If that had won he would have been promoted. Commiserations to the four going down, we hope to see you back again. That goes for hong kong fooey who retired this month. I'd just like to finish by saying thank you for the kind messages. |

Finally sneaked it through Must have been 24 or more attempts ?  Thanks Swifty but knowing me I'll tumble straight back at the first hurdle, after taking so long  . Glad I've finally achieved the commitment goal though  |

Thanks once again swift-tuttle for your efficient running of this competition. You will have a respite from me for February but no doubt I will be back in March as I certainly won't be going for odds on selections in the premier.
