The problem is you could have a 10/1 beaten a short head and you get closed on by someone putting up odds on shots. A good effort gets you nothing. As I said I hate doing it, but this week I am not intending to throw away places to those who have just been putting up odds on shots for virtually the whole month. I'll say it again - every single competitor has the freedom to choose whichever horse he or she wishes to choose in any race on any given day.
As for hurting - I can completely assure you that nothing hurts me on here and nothing ever will. Even Paul and his lapdogs with their regular tirades I found absolutely laughable! In the meantime, you and anyone else on here who wants to get me and people like me out of the Prem, it's really simple - pick your horses at prices which are sufficient to give you monthly totals which will get us relegated. Shane has a strategy to smash the odds on backers out the park every month, and on a regular basis he succeeds! The effect of the mentality of staying up at any cost is to grind
down the people who are playing for the enjoyment of the competition. I never used to look at the table except to see how I was doing. I now find myself like dd annoyed by the mentality of a large minority of posters. I noticed recently a non runner posted over an hour after it had been withdrawn, a losing selection that had not been noticed by the settler because its name did not quite match, not being owned up to. Now it may be that in both instances that they are both innocent oversights. We all got to this division on merit. Some of us want to play in something that resembles a sporting competition. |
