FLAT BIG RACE COMP 2022 - Race 3 - My Odds Boost Betfair Hcap

The Rules:

The competition will cover 35 or so of the most competitive races of the Flat season.

A thread on which selections can be posted will be put up a couple of days before the race and selections can be made up to 1/2hr before race time.

Players are given 2 stake points per race.
Players can use the 2pts on 1 selection or share the 2pts between 2 selections, 1pt each.
Points will be awarded based on each selections finishing position down to 5th place.
Results will be settled at SP.

1st place will get stake x 15 x SP
2nd place will get stake x 7 x SP
3rd place will get stake x 4 x SP
4th place will get stake x 2 x SP
and 5th place will get stake x 1 x SP

Non-runners:
If you choose one selection, please nominate a reserve just in case of late withdrawal.
If you choose two selections and one is a non-runner, your 2pts will go on the remaining selection, unless you left a reserve.
In either case you can replace a non-runner as normal up to the 1/2hr cut-off time.
If you make a selection with no reserve, and it doesn't run, your 2pts will go on the favourite (in case of jt or co favs then the 2pts will go on the one which is highest in the hcap)

In the event of dispute, my decision will be final.

Anyone welcome to join at any time.

Blackrod to replace Bernardo O'Reilly.

Thanks

differentdrum, I'm sorry but I'm disallowing that late replacement as all selections/replacements need to be in by the cut-off time.

Race 3 results and points allocations:

1. Blackrod 13/2  x 15pts x stake
2. Above 33/1  x 7pts x stake
3. Chairmanoftheboard 33/1  x 4pts x stake
4. Justanotherbottle 28/1  x 2pts x stake
5. First Folio  9/1  x 1pts x stake

Firstly congratulations to tictacman1 for getting the winner for 2pts.
However, Andrew In Sweden bags the big points for 2pts on the 33/1 runner-up and THE MUFF FUFFLER is well rewarded for 1pt each on the 33/1 pair in the frame, fantastic value spotting both!

I appreciate rules are rules, but having a half an hour cut off rule seems ridiculous. I posted as soon as I was aware of the non runner. What advantage was I gaining?

I am not suggesting you did, but you may have benefited from late market information which is the main point of the 1/2 hr rule, to even things out for those who can't be around to post late.

So why can you post up to a minute before in the Team Tipster competition which I assumed was the same for this competition? Why is it okay to benefit from market information in that competition? It makes no sense.

In the Team Comp you have more flexibility during the week as to when to post. I did have the 1hr rule before changing it a couple of years ago I think, I don't remember exactly why but I guess I thought it would benefit the comp.
This particular comp, running for well over a decade now, has always been 1/2hr.

It makes even less sense that you haven't read the rules of this competition three races in DD, despite UD posting them each thread.

Learn from your mistakes. Always post a reserve just in case you have a late non runner.

Bernardo OReilly became a non-runner at 11:37 according to Oddschecker!

So why wait over 2 hours to replace it?

Just saying!

Some top scoring there guys from Andrew.In.Sweden, THE MUFF FUFFLER and tictacman1 well earned points
