I propose to run the comp from 27 Feb to 18 June, a total of 8 fortnightly rounds = 16 weeks.
Captains - are you willing to head up your teams again? If so please start team threads and bring your talent in from the cold.
If you participated last time and would like to again then please sign in here or on your team thread.
The target is 7 teams of 8, the sooner regulars sign in the better so we can recruit to fill gaps.
If you were not a part of the fun last time, you are welcome to join in, albeit the numbers need to fit team sizes so no guarantees.
For those who took part for the first time last Autumn, please note it's a different format so have a read of the rules.
Still basically one selection per week from each player.
I understand glentoby has been banned from the forum so if anyone from TOFTL fancies the captain's arm band please shout out.
If no-one steps up, let's say by the end of Sat 12th, then I may open the position to anyone that wants to head up a team, whether it be TOFTL or a new team.

Each round and each week within rounds will begin on a Sunday and finish on a Saturday. Each team will have 8 selections per week, one from each player, duplicate selections are allowed but no duplicate selections within teams at any time. Players must use their 1 selection per week, it cannot be carried over to the other week in the round. 10pts win or 5pts EW on British, Irish & French racing, selected any day, Sunday through Saturday, the week ends on the last Saturday race. If selection is posted without specifying stake then 10pts win assumed. Settled at SP, EW terms as industry standard. Selections must be posted before scheduled race time. On Saturdays there will be a 3pm cut-off for selections, that is you may pick in any race after that but it has to be posted by 3pm. Once you have posted a selection you are not allowed to change it or the stake, unless it becomes a non-runner or is a duplicate. Non Runners - that team member may choose again for that week. If you are selecting in a race on Saturday, in the event of a non-runner, you will automatically have 10pts win on the fav in the same race as your selection. However, you may replace your non-runner with any new selection, provided you do so prior to the race time of the original selection and adhere to the Saturday 3pm cut-off. If your selection runs after the 3pm Saturday cut-off, and the race in question is abandoned, you will automatically have 10pts Win on the favourite in the next available race at whichever meeting, or in the event of no such races available, it will go on the immediately previous race run. If there are jt or co-favs then lowest racecard no. is chosen. Reserve selections are not allowed, nor is posting "just-in-case" selections for team mates that may or may not turn up. Wildcards are available to cover holiday or other absence and covering for non-runners. Team captains will be responsible for managing any wildcards required, there are no restrictions on their use, but please try and share them around so that no one individual is always claiming them. Please also name who the wildcard is for when posting. Teams will start the week from a baseline of 0pts. This equates to 8 losing selections and/or non-selections. Subsequent scores will be added to this baseline plus return of the winning part of the stake (10pts for win and EW winner, 5pts for EW placed). All scores count. Scores will be accumulated through the fortnight, there will be no points awarded for weekly finishing positions. Points structure for overall comp: Fortnightly winners will receive 12pts, runners-up - 8pts, 3rd - 6pts, 4th - 4pts, 5th - 3pts, 6th - 2pts, 7th - 1pt Competition schedule: Round 1 - 27 Feb to 12 Mar Round 2 - 13 Mar to 26 Mar Round 3 - 27 Mar to 09 Apr Round 4 - 10 Apr to 23 Apr Round 5 - 24 Apr to 07 May Round 6 - 08 May to 21 May Round 7 - 22 May to 04 Jun Round 8 - 05 Jun to 18 Jun |

Of course I welcome the return of the comp. I'm afraid there was some internal dissension in the Humbugs last time as well as a banned member having to post through me which may be more of a problem this time. I will see what I can do though but player power is a terrible thing.

posy has failed in another attempt to get himself reinstated,which is very annoying as he was never an abusive poster in my experience,despite us having political differences. The sort of gentleman who is a definite loss to the forum.
We have 5 confirmed. I'm still waiting on Norfolk and GLASGOW but I've had no indication they are not interested and they are both easy to chase up. We have usually been able to recruit our own contacts so will endeavour to do that to replace posy. |

GLASGOW has confirmed so we have 7 Humbugs. I have feelers out to a poster I know from HR who is in The Naps Comp but not this one. One way or another I think we'll have a full team well before the start.
