I have been running this for a while on HR but it has been about as popular as Meghan Markel at Balmoral so it's back here.
The round-up of ex-Humbugs yielded 6 but I'm afraid others seem to have disappeared for one reason or another.
The old hands are :

No rush for us as others still scramble to reform
I will be asking people to sign in later next week and will then make then also make clear how we operate. That does not mean I will be telling people to go short/long/win/ew or whatever. Experience shows it's best to leave that to individuals who know what they are best at. I may hint at tactical considerations but no more than that. I imagine people will realise there should be no criticism of teammates or their selections. If you think somebody has put up a no-hoper please keep it to yourself. I will follow up people by PM if necessary so please check your messages reasonably regularly. This has always been my fav comp and I hope others enjoy it as much as I do (and that the Govt allows it to go ahead.) That's all for now, Obergrippenfuehrer SS |

Just making sure we don't get lost.
Looks as though there might be 7 teams but I'll believe it when I see it. 6 looks likely though which is what we had when the comp ended. |

Right we start on Sun 9th.
You have to pick a horse anywhere in England,Ireland or France during the next seven days. It can be any price and you can have 10pts win or 5 pts e/w. The only things you have to watch are that you can't change your selection once you have posted it,nor can you pick the same one as a teammate. You may pick again if you get a n/r. All selections on Sat have to be made by 3.00PM. I need to know NOW if anybody wants to withdraw so I can find somebody new by Sunday. Also if you know you won't be able to pick in any week let me know and I will give a wildcard to someone else. Things can get a bit hectic on Sats so I will try and be around on Sat afternoons. If I can't be I'll ask for a volunteer. If you feel you need to know more detail the whole rules are on a number of undecided's threads here and on HR. Finally this thread is usually quite lively so "let's be 'aving yer!" |

I am now informed (thanks smirnoff) that ud is running the comp on here.
Can you please put your selections on his relevant thread at the time but then also put them on here as it makes it a lot easier to work out how we are doing and if we are missing any. The cardinal sin in this comp is to NOT get 8 selections a week. Helps if some of them win of course. |

Right we are off and running in less than 6 hours.
It IS normal for a majority to wait till Sat to put up a selection but there is no reason to. If there's one you fancy please have a go earlier and remember it can be win or e/w. Selections should be put on ud's thread AND on here please. Good Luck all Viva HUMBUGGERS |

Can I just mention that the selections that have been made so far ( all by newbies to the comp I think ) have not stated which team they are picking for. To make ud's life a bit easier could Humbugs please open with " for the Humbugs " or something similar.

In view of TNM's quite reasonable query that ud answered on one of the main threads,all teams start on 0. You pick up pts from there by getting winners. I can assure you that if after two weeks and 16 selections we have nul pts we will be last. It does discourage people from putting up odds-on shots except in certain tactical situations. Not that any of us would do that anyway.
