That is correct Stu it's 88p

take a 3/1 winner for example in a dead heat £1 win becomes 50p win at 3/1 returns £2 so anything shorter than 3/1 has to be odds on once in a dead heat.

Remember you lose half the original stake. So 50p win nets you £1.375. But you have to deduct the 50p loss from that. £1.375 - 50p = 87.5p = 88p

unluckyStu if the horse had lost you would have been deducted £1. As it was a DH you were only deducted 50p.
You were credited with half what you would have got had it won and were deducted half what you would have been deducted had it lost.

Hope that made sense.
