I have a feeling I'm not being taken seriously     

I nominate all the odds-on merchants who have clogged up the premier division. They pat each other on the back if they`re +1 at the end of the month and never get relegated because they keep tipping 1/4 shots and the most you can expect to be down at the end of the month is about -3.

Very easy to take that attitude when you're in Div 3 and CAN'T get relegated.
And what back patting ffs. We are fighting for our elite lives. One day you will understand. Or maybe not.

OK then...an example of backpatting.....

You`re profit last month? +1-20....gimme a break ffs.

+8 couldn`t get promoted from division 3.

How could anybody take you seriously, putting up odds-on chances 95% of the time!

You should have called yourself 'Coco the Clown'!

And as for the "elite", if you think you are in that category, then I'd think again!

On a more serious note, it strikes me that those abusing the odds-on posse have the remedy in their own hands. Get promoted to the premier and show them the error of their ways.

However, Mr Salmon I don't think we should be booting anyone but the most wretched of people out of the comp. And, while skinto might be a wretch, I do not think he is necessarily wretched.

Nah Reggie...they`re being shown the error of their ways every month. There`s a few of them there and they`re happy to stagnate, hovering somewhere between +2 and -3 every month, knowing they can`t win it and they can`t be relegated. Fup knows why they even bother apart from issuing bragging rights about being in the elite from time to time.

Here's a possible explanation. Lay the odds-on shot in real life and nap it in the comp. If it wins the race, you have consolation.

It`s a strange sport when you think about it, from top to bottom.

My view was it is up to the rest to knock the odds on merchants off their perch. It never happened as we were all too inconsistent.

Yeah but are they on a perch though? They sort of operate somewhere a little above mid-table mediocrity by putting up shorties and eventually they`ll get promoted when the conditions allow it i.e. they perform better than their mean in a month where +3 might get you promoted. They eventually get to the top table and will never be relegated once they`re putting up selections that range from 1/2 to 1/25. Some of them then like to brag in a passive aggressive manner about how they are Premier Division tipsters or part of the "Elite" when it`s clear the better tipsters are moving up and down through the divisions and will be only in the premier division intermittently. What`s the point of an 80% strike rate if it doesn`t turn a profit? At least Skinto stays on their case.

Take today for example, 9 of the to$$ers were on the 2/5 shot Carter Mckay, who was probably a 1/5 shot when they put it up, but drifted alarmingly!
