Morning Salmon . Circumstances change and so I’m mostly a layer now , only occasionally back anything. Also do more US racing these days.

A couple of years ago I had a couple of months laying--was making about £100/£200 a day--got £5,000 up then had three £1500 payouts in about 10 day's so stopped at £900 up--these were all over 200.00 for money upto about £1500--is this your approach---or do you lay favourites that you think should not be that short ?

I am much the same china.
USA laying was a licence to print money some years ago. Harder now but I have more idea what I am doing.
I was never in your class napping but I was once 2nd to you in ud's rolling table

I lay long but rarely at 200s. Mainly between 10 and 100. Can go a fortnight with no losing bets then get 5 in 3 days which is obviously painful.
You can't make that much in the US as the liquidity isn't there but it's been worth it for me over the years.

I generally like to lay horses at the head of the market rather than outsiders and nearly always place lay them as well. Its far easier to cope with a few of them winning when laying fairly short. Tend to find small field races better for laying than bigger fields as well.
In US racing the liquidity can still be there among the favs especially when there aren't many meetings on the go. Prefer to do the smaller tracks than the bigger tracks.

Great Lakes was before my time. Didn't really get involved till 2009/10.
Liquidity is a lot down since then. Or maybe I go to bed too early these days.
