NH BIG RACE COMP 2016/17 - Race 16 - Betfair Hurdle

The Rules:

The competition will cover 30 or so of the most competitive races of the NH season.

A thread on which selections can be posted will be put up a couple of days before the race and selections can be made up to 1/2hr before race time.

Players are given 2 stake points per race.
Players can use the 2pts on 1 selection or share the 2pts between 2 selections, 1pt each.
Points will be awarded based on each selections finishing position down to 5th place.
Results will be settled at SP.

1st place will get stake x 14 x SP
2nd place will get stake x 7 x SP
3rd place will get stake x 4 x SP
4th place will get stake x 2 x SP
and 5th place will get stake x 1 x SP


Non-runners:
If you choose one selection, please nominate a reserve just in case of late withdrawal.
If you choose two selections and one is a non-runner, your 2pts will go on the remaining selection, unless you left a reserve.
In either case you can replace a non-runner as normal up to the 1/2hr cut-off time.
If you make a selection with no reserve, and it doesn't run, your 2pts will go on the favourite (in case of jt or co favs then the 2pts will go on the one which is highest in the hcap)

In the event of dispute, my decision will be final.

Here is my views on the betfair hurdle, one of the worst i have ever witnessed, the summer plate was equal....

1-Hargam, needs good ground and only runs for owners others, but he could outrun his odds.

2-Clyne, Good winning record but using the haydock trial as form is pointless, look at the horses TNO struggled top beat in the years previous years, plus you would want 10 extra points if this trainer could win a race like this.

3-Boite, exposed handicapper, might have a chance of filling the places as his 2m form is ok

4-Zubayr, i liked this horse a lot when he made his debut, looked a good type, he needs it soft but the form of his debut is average in hindsight, Saved for this and given the weakness of this race should make the top 6.

5-De Name Escapes Me, hard to weigh up his form, but he could easily out run his odds.

6-Wait For Me, has cost me so much money so far it is horrid, it cant jump and what it has shown cant win, if it wins then fair play with the plan.

8-William H Boney, decent form but not enough to win this.

9-Ballyhill, probably in the race for the trainer but could easily outrun his give what a crap race this is.

10-Movewiththetimes, his run at cheltenham was the most confusing for a punter to work out. Makes the top 4 imo

11-Ballandy, his hurdle form is not as poor as people make out, been beaten in 2 sprints and the other. I feel a plot here given the way he has been ridden so far.

12-Beltor. no
13-Song Light, no
14-Gassin Golf,no

15-Veinard, could win this given how crap this race is, Irish races are so much better than ours, ew if the price has not gone.

Really enjoyed your summary Ibrahima
and agree with the majority of views, the game is all about opinions
so to cover myself I have gone with and against you
all the potential 'plots' are too short as you would expect, and you just dont know what they are capable of
cant believe the field isnt bigger
maybe the majority of smaller stables know the big boys will have a few laid out for this
therefore may as well wait for the next opportunity and not blow their marks
