I did a bet on the virtual racing today ..
Salmon something ( in memory of our Salmon spray)
Its leading after about a minute and the useless spotty  kid behind the counter says
casually to my back  -- as i am watching the race unfold and mine take the lead --
"Sorry i didnt get that one on in time"

For the uninitiated on the machinations of the "new" Betfair Forum
It works like this (AGAIN !!!!) :-
You cannot get in to post on to a certain thread ( lets say Div 1)
The "new" forum wont let you ..
Although you are signed in , it says "sign in to post"
So what you donus
It allows you to create a thread
So you do --
Now quickly you post your selection on THAT thread in case
Forum goes fully t-i-t-s up !!
Having succesfully done that
the Forum now lets you post normally to the Division thread !!
So you post yourcselection again on that-- to aid the organiser --
and point him to the created thread if time is an issue ..

And so, there you have it, politely explained

Or you just pick your selection a lot earlier

They only open the ward doors at 2pm and we have to be

I wish I hadn`t posted again this week, finding a winner odds against is proving almost impossible for me.
