Tried it a few times in the early days but was always useless at it. Used to make a bit from laying the book in the races at the big festival meetings but that avenue has largely disappeared now , still do it for smaller amounts at Cheltenham and on the Grand National.

I messed around with a few last week. Waited until just before the off and backed the best supported horse (final few mins before off) then laid it in-running. Back say 3.25 and lay 2.6.
Also - been told that a good strategy is to lay the all Blues on odds checker, then wait for the price to increase during the final 10 mins before the off. Something to maybe keep an eye on. |

Looked at variations of trying to lay at estimated sp or just below.

You need front runners. Back to lay(I/r). But I can only be bothered occasionally

Yes, you see some prices drop dramatically i/r as they break well on the AW. mind you i don`t watch enough racing.

The problem with back to lay front runners is that they can miss the break on the flat and fall at the first over the jumps. Your a bit stuck if this happens.

Worth risking over jumps imo if you can be pretty sure they will make the running.
