AW Competition Roll of Honour

Points Competition Winners

2013-2014:  pumphol

Can last year's impressive champion pumphol, become the first to successfully defend his crown in the toughest and most relentless comp of them all?!

Perhaps the naps champ and dual AW Averages Comp winner china castle, high up on most of the ante-post betting lists Wink, will be more determined then ever to the add the AW Comp Title to his impressive CV and go one better than last year!

Maybe a couple of the compers who caught the eye last season will be looking to throw down a serious challenge. Will angeleyz, who got off to a flyer last season and led for much of the way before her exertions took their toll, be looking to maintain that blistering form to the bitter end this time around!? Or perhaps mackies-fc, who made an encouraging AW Comp debut last season, will be the one to blow the opposition away.

All are welcome to enter and good luck to everyone taking part.

Start Date: Monday 10th Novemeber, 2014
Final Day: AW Championship Finals Day, April 3rd 2015

LET BATTLE COMMENCE!

RULES:

Meetings taking place on Sundays are not included.

Rules for the individual meetings are unchanged:

One selection per race
One nap per meeting

Winner selected scores 7 points
Second selected scores 3 points
Third selected scores 1 point

If SP is greater than 6/1 points are doubled
If SP is greater than 12/1 points are trebled
If SP is greater than 20/1 points are quadrupled
IF SP IS EVENS OR SHORTER POINTS ARE HALVED (i.e a 4/7 winner scores 3.5, a napped 10/11 second scores 3)

All nap points won are doubled.
You may not nap any nag tissued in the Racing post at evens or shorter.

Any non runner (which can be substituted at any time before the off) will automatically go on the favourite, including naps.

Points will be awarded on a daily basis, according to finishing positions as follows:

20 points: 1st place
15 points: 2nd
12 points: 3rd
10 points: 4th
8 points: 5th
6 points: 6th
4 points: 7th
3 points: 8th
2 points: 9th
1 point: 10th

Individual daily meeting threads will be posted in the Horse Racing forum group the night before each meeting and an "in-running" scoring service may sometimes be in operation if the kind volunteers have time.

The overall leaderboards on this thread will be updated by me on a regular basis.

Monthly comps will run along side the overall one.

Comp history was made this evening, I think, with stridingedge becoming the first comper ever to break the 100 points barrier at a single meeting. 5 juicy winners that included a 33-1 SHOCKER and a 16-1 stunning nap from his notebook. Well done, sir.

There are 81 points up for grabs in each comp.....

1st 20
2nd 15
3rd 12
4th 10

So they have to be divided up like this ( always adds up to 81 )

In the example above, there are joint 1st winners, so we add points for 1st and 2nd together and then share them equally between them...

(20 + 15) = 35  So they get 17.5 points each.

Same with the joint 6th places, we add 6th and 7th points.

( 6 + 4 ) = 10  So they get 5 points each.
