I noticed what I think is a flaw in the points system and pointed it out to undecided, subsequently giving an example of how having picked a couple of losers could benefit someone come qualification / the end of the group stage.
I don't know about you, but to me it detracts from a comp if losers are 'rewarded'.

If I see something (even slightly belatedly) which I think is unfair / flawed, then I won't be a 'pusssy'(!) and say nothing, I'll point it out, even if it means upsetting sensitive souls like yourself!

The rules for this matchplay competition are fine apart from the lrf, i think if you have a week to make a selection and fail to do so it should be settled automatically as a loser

Clarifying the "Out" bit ?
As it was never expected that there would be no shows

I am guessing UD that if the no showers in first game don't show again (or there are new x 2 no shows) then all matches that involved them are scrubbed & no points allocated to the opposition
If so, the ones that beat the LRF'ers will need to be wary in case of holding a false position

Hi mads, I'm trying to keep up with it all, clearly the LRF situation needs more thought.

My original thoughts were that LRFs would be everybody's "opponents" in case of no shows (no matter what the reason) so that everyone played a "competitive" match (even if it meant LRF lottery).
No shows would be penalised at the end of the stage, so that a player not turning up at all is obviously out even if they got 3 LRF wins.
Also if there were to be a tie on points, then a player with fewer no shows would go through.

Non-runners:

If a player does not select or picks a duplicate or picks a non-runner (non-runners/duplicates evident before the Saturday cut-off can be replaced) then they will be assigned a selection - Last race fav. (If jt. favs then lowest number on the card). If both players in a match end up with non-runners then it will be 1pt each.

Undecided  the old man here  bits of advice  the LRF should be dropped why  it will give  you loads of probs
2 scenarios  two players are on the samme points  in the same group  both more or less to go through .. they play LRF .. its unfair  on the other 2 guys
my  way would be any player  who cannot be bothered to  put one up   ..should have no points
