Breaking news. After an anonymous tip-off from a man with a broad Cornish accent undecided made a spot check on The Thieves. 7 of them tested positive for anabolic steroids and have been banned from Your Comps for the foreseeable future. petemac was clean and will be making all 8 selections

More importantly Salmon has been dreaming of this day of destiny for many a fine month and has deliberately been plying me with vodka all winter long in order to get my handicap mark down in order to supply a winner for this fine occasion -add into that that the dealer is sh1tting winners left right and centre elsewhere then may i suggest Lampus that you double up your cornish pasties bet becos the lady`s not for returning and Petemacs gonna be doing some Gurning when he gets his ass whipped again

There is an annoying midge-like thing on this thread. Can't seem to get rid of it.
I'm afraid I am running away at the height of battle and fulfilling a long-standing weekend engagement. Lt Lampus has been informed and will be taking charge. Please obey him in every particular, just as you would me. Hopefully I am leaving you with a winner to more or less neutralise the midge's friend's lucky guess 4.55 Punchestown - Panther Claw e/w If mine is a n/r or you need a wildcard at longish odds I quite fancy Michel le Bon in the Whitbread. Good luck Humbugs and once more unto the breach.

Oh dear. My internet and my Sky died on me during the hailstorm. And now my tactical planning has all gone to waste. Having said that I only had one choice that would have now helped. I will let you know after 19:30 if it would have mattered!

Well fortunately I wont feel too guilty as if I had just picked this morning as normal out of 3 I had on my mind, 2 have already lost and the 1 left isnt a big enough price. So I am not going to punish myself too harshly!

Good efforts from 2 of the team gave us a respectable total but what can you do when petemac gets a 14-1 winner. We haven't got a week off. Playing somebody or other for 3rd place.

Welcome back Salmon hope you had a good weekend and thanks to yourself and all the girls and boys in the Humbugs for the Craic , Banter and the Good Spirit shown. You just hit us in the wrong week. I am sure it will continue.
Now Where is Mr Lee1966?

More posts by Thieves than Humbugs on this page of the thread I think.
Just a reminder that we have NOT earned a week off by letting the Thieves win. We are playing The Racing Demons for 3rd place.

Wouldn't Cornwall have to marry Gloucestershire ? I usually like Hunter Chases and I did alright on a couple but there was one thing won with a BFSP of 305. Must admit I was trying to get on at 80s.

Just a reminder that we DO need a pick this week. I must admit I had forgotten until last Sun that there was a play-off. Obviously Lampus and myself are aware and de44ek4 has already played and got a nice winner but I hope Lampus doesn't have to pick 6 on Sat.

I probably wouldn't tbh having had another look. Difficult to split the two,but also the ist Gns I took an interest in was won by Only For Life at 66-1 I think.

I have picked my ex horse. Despite the track not being as good for him as York and Haydock, he came 4th in this last year for me and he is a better horse now. So hopefully Spirit Quartz can at least get a place.

I know it's not huge, but think a return to turf might not see the blue dog at his best.

I shall translate from the Cornish which is a very concise language. Lampus is on about Golda Meir who became PM of Israel in 1969,the second ( I think ) democratically elected leader in the world to be a woman. She was born in 1898:obviously she didn't die in that year or she couldn't have become PM in 1969 I cannot guarantee to interpret everything so successfully as the Cornish spoken by the peasants can be very obscure indeed.
