Each round and each week within rounds will begin on a Sunday and finish on a Saturday. Each team will have 8 selections per week, one from each player, duplicate selections are allowed, no duplicate selections within teams at any time. Players must use their 1 selection per week, it cannot be carried over to the other week in the round. 10pts win or 5pts EW on British, Irish, French (as long as an industry SP is returned) or UAE racing and Breeder's Cup meeting, selected any day, Sunday through Saturday, the week ends on the last Saturday race. Settled at SP, EW terms as industry standard. Selections must be posted at least one hour before race time. On Saturdays there will be a 4pm cut-off for selections, that is you may pick in any race after that but it has to be posted by 4pm (1hr rule still applies). Once you have posted a selection you are not allowed to change it or the stake, unless it becomes a non-runner or is a duplicate. Non Runners - that team member may choose again for that week. Team captains will be responsible for managing any wildcards required, there are no restrictions on their use, but please try and share them around so that no one individual is always claiming them. Please also name who the wildcard is for when posting. If any player is absent for two weeks running without notice, they may be dropped from the comp. Teams will start the week from a baseline of 0pts. This equates to 8 losing selections and/or non-selections. Subsequent scores will be added to this baseline plus return of the winning part of the stake (10pts for win and EW winner, 5pts for EW placed). All scores count. Scores will be accumulated through the fortnight, there will be no points awarded for weekly finishing positions. Points structure for overall yearly comp: Fortnightly winners will receive 10pts, runners-up - 7pts, 3rd - 6pts, 4th - 5pts, 5th - 4pts, 6th - 3pts, 7th - 2pts, 8th - 1pt

Permutations for the final round:
Lucky Pin Club could be champions only if they win the final round and end up with a bigger profit total than Humbugs who must finish last and also Each Way Thieves must finish no better than 6th, again Pins must have a better profit total and must also beat Racing Demons overall total if Demons end up 2nd. For Racing Demons to be champions, they must finish 1st in the final round and hope that Humbugs finish no better than 6th (or 5th if Demons overhaul Humbugs profit total) and Each Way Thieves finish no better than 3rd. OR If Racing Demons finish 2nd then Humbugs must be last with a worse overall profit and Each Way Thieves must finish no higher than 6th and Lucky Pins must not win with a better overall profit. If Each Way Thieves win the final round they will be champions. If they come 2nd, then Humbugs must finish no higher than 4th but Thieves would need to have a better final profit total otherwise they need Humbugs to be 5th. If Thieves are 3rd, then Humbugs need to be 6th (or 5th if Thieves hold the profit advantage) but Racing Demons musn't win. If Each Way Thieves come 4th, then they need Humbugs to be 7th or lower (or 6th if having the better final profit) and Racing Demons musn't win. If Thieves finish 5th, then Humbugs must finish last (or 7th if Thieves have the better profit total) and Racing Demons musn't win the final round. If Humbugs win or come 2nd to anyone other than Thieves then they are champions. If Humbugs finish 3rd, then as long as Thieves don't win, they are champions. If Humbugs finish 4th then as long as Thieves don't win or finish 2nd and have a better profit total, Humbugs are champions. If Humbugs finish 5th then Each Way Thieves must be no better than 4th (or 3rd if Humbugs keep their profit advantage) and Racing Demons don't win the final round with a better overall profit for Humbugs to be champions. If Humbugs finish 6th then as long as Each Way Thieves finish no higher than 4th (or 3rd if the lesser total profit) and Racing Demons don't win the final round, then Humbugs will be champions. If Humbugs finish 7th, then they will be champions only if Each Way Thieves finish no higher than 6th (or 5th and Humbugs have the better profit total) and Racing Demons don't win the final round. If Humbugs finish last then to be champions, Each Way Thieves must finish no higher than 7th (6th if Humbugs have the better profit total) and Racing Demons don't win or finish 2nd with a better profit total and Lucky Pin Club don't win with the bigger profit total. I would think we'll start again mid January, I'm looking to make a little change in that rather than have one yearly comp split by the summer break, we'll have two separate shorter competitions each with it's own winner, and a year end grand final (or even split into 4). I will be putting up a 2013 thread on this subject.

Gauntlet well and truly thrown down!
That's what I love about this competition, there's me listing out all the permutations for this final round and up pops the naps supremo of the past couple of years with a 20/1 EW winner, Strike Force. I'm talking about hong kong fooey, brilliant pick, and Each Way Thieves are saying catch us if you can! One from yesterday I forgot to update, Ming_the_Merciless scored with 4/6 winner Sire De Grugy, well done.

Some good action today, mainly by the Newbies, 3 scores led by MALTWHIX's 7/2 winner Bless The Wings, accompanied by scissors' first winner I think 11/8 Puffin Billy and rounded off by THE MUFF FUFFLER who gave us 4/9 Dynaste.
Ra Nova also had a winner for the Pins, 15/8 Living Leader. Well done today's scorers.
Last race of Saturday will be 9.20 Wolves, selections in by 4pm please.
