* * * * * CONGRATULATIONS TO CHINA CASTLE, DIVISION 2 CHAMPIGNON FOR SEPTEMBER * * * * *

China Castle was Division 3 Champion last month with a total of £42.75. And now he's ended this month with an equally magnificent total of £31.75, peaking at £37.00.
He did it with winners at 16/1, 9/1, 5/1, 15/2, 2/1, 15/2 and 11/4.
That first 16/1 nap rocketed him into 1st place and no-one ever really got close despite him only finding 1 winner in the final 10 days. An excellent win and a worthy champion. I wish you every success in Division 1.

stealthgun finishes in 2nd place with a 6/1 winner.

SilverBuck1 just gets edged out into 3rd but he won't mind that, promotion being the name of the game. Consecutive 7/2 and 10/1 winners a few days ago were what sealed it for him.

ardgirl played truant today but had already done enough (as it turned out luckily) to hang on to a podium finish. We sent her up to Division 1 at the end of July as Champion, but she missed us so much she came straight back down again. She's obviously realised that maybe Div 1 has a bit more going for it after all and she's decided to go back.

And majorupshotbagley takes the 5th podium place with a 5/2 winner.

kwalker finishes in 6th. His 4/5 winner today wasn't quite enough to secure promotion today following yesterday's excellent 10/1 nap. Bad luck.

Monte Christo and Aquarius, who both jumped on the podium yesterday, both jumped off again today. It's been a great promotion battle but it wasn't to be.
sixtwosix and flyingbolt must also be wondering where it all went wrong after having a great month. In the words of Terry Thomas, "Hard cheese".

Promoted to Division 1:

Well done the 5 of you and the best of luck upstairs.

There were some valiant efforts to avoid relegation at the other end of the table, the closest being CreamyWhiskers who almost managed it but had to settle for 2nd place.

Relegated to Division 3

We all know you're capable of producing the goods but we also all know that misfortune and bad runs are all part of the game.
Give them hell downstairs and bounce right back.

So, our two longest standing members, stealthgun and majorupshotbagley, who've both been in Division 2 since September 2011!!!, finally went and did it.
I never thought I'd live to see the day! My heartiest congratulations to the pair of you. It's been a very long wait!
And if I'm honest, I have to say that after I saw yesterday's results, I really didn't expect either of you to do it today. The fact that both of you managed to get back in the Top 5 today is quite remarkable. If I was a gambling man it's a bet I'm very happy to say I would have lost.
Now get out-a-here and don't let me see either of you again.

Congrats to the top 5 on going up.

Great write up momm as usual.

Thanks for all your efforts. Some good banter on here.

SMILEY AWARDS for September

Absolutely ecstatic, can't believe after 12 long months, me and the major have made it up on the same day. Congratulations to him and everyone else that got promoted. Thanks to everyone that has made division two so enjoyable over the past year. Always a great laugh and a top division. Finally, a personal thanks to MOMM for his outstanding efforts as a settler and divisional manager. He makes the division the success it is and does a brilliant job. Thank you!

How did we do it ( Steathgun & me)/ He appears to have abandonded short price winners with a couple of good medium shots. I just got lucky although I expected to get pipped at the last .... again!!

Many thanks again for all the encouragement/trying to get rid of us.
I'll try not to emulate General Mcarthur's comment in WW2 " I will return"

Good luck

Great monthly total China Castle proper champion, well done to all the promotees.

Good luck with training this months new recruits MOMM, thanks for all your hard work this month.

How did you both it, major? One of life's little mysteries. We'll probably never know the answer.
