Up in The Dales this week in N.Yorkshire we are cut off all bridges are flooded, and one stone bridge has been washed away. Broadband has been down, been trying it all morning and it has just come up.

Hopefully some leeway in time will be allowed with the race 7 hours away

Rasheed - 8.20 Kemp
ta

Morning scissors.

This is a point which has been raised before on several occasions and the answer has always been that no leeway is allowed with the 1hr rule other than permitting a post with a timestamp exactly one hour before the selection is due to run. i.e. 13:35 is acceptable for a 14:35 race even though strictly speaking, once that 13:35 timestamp appears, the final hour has begun. The fact that your preferred selection's race was 7 hours away is immaterial.

The reason it's strictly enforced is simply . . . where do you draw the line? Once you accept a post being 2 minutes late, then you have to accept every post which is 2 minutes late and it becomes a 58 minute rule. And if the settler keeps allowing leeway on the new accepted time limit, then it just keeps getting eroded and there's no way back.

I know how annoying it is. I've missed the deadline by 1 or 2 minutes myself on more than one occasion due to computer or connection problems. I think the last time was a forum problem. So I do sympathise but really it's out of my hands.

So I'm afraid that your 8.20 selection of Rasheed (which finished 7th) can not be accepted and your instruction of the Fav in the 2.30 or nearest after (in this case the 2.35 Goodwood which the Fav won at 3/1) must take precedence as your post was 2 minutes late. I'm really sorry about that.

The big shock of the day is that stealthgun opposed the 8/13 favourite in the 1.30 and his selection actually won! 7/2!!! Congratulations. I'm sure this will be a talking point at dinner parties for years to come.

SilverBuck also scored with a 7/2 winner and jumps back onto the podium, in 4th place. Nice one.

ATone found a 3/1 winner to climb +2 place to the edge of the drop-zone.
And scissors climbs +5, also with a 3/1 shot.

With 4 days still to go, there are lots of players in with a very good chance of promotion. Only about £10 separates 5th and 20th places. And any of those players in the bottom 10 are perfectly capable of finding big-priced winners.

Good luck everyone.
