Hayley Turner cannot wait to "get back in the groove" when she returns to action at Kempton on Tuesday after being sidelined for four months with a broken ankle.

Turner, who enjoyed the first Group One victories of her career on Dream Ahead in the July Cup and Margot Did in the Nunthorpe before her injury, has three rides at the Sunbury track.

Her first ride back is on Brendan Powell's Copper Falls in the Win Thousands of Sports Experiences At bluesq.com Nursery.

Her other two are for Conor Dore - Opus Maximus in the Bet And Watch At bluesq.com Handicap, and Lucky Art in division two of the Bet At bluesq.com On Your Mobile Handicap.

She made the most of her enforced absence by taking a five-day break to New York and Atlantic City, returning on Monday morning.

"It was really good, I loved it. Now it's back into the groove," she said.

"I'm looking forward to race-riding. I've had quite a lot of time off.

"There's not a lot going on over Christmas, but it's nice to have a few rides and get back race fit for January."

Of her chances of a first-day winner she said: "Copper Falls has a wide draw, which is not ideal over five furlongs round there.

"Opus Maximus has been consistent, but it's a tighter track at Kempton. You always need a bit of luck on a horse like that round there. He'll have a chance if he gets it.

"As for Lucky Art, he's a course and distance winner."

Despite being out for almost four months, Turner described 2011 as a very good year, mainly thanks to her two wins, out of a yearly total of 83, at the highest level.

But she is not setting herself any targets for 2012.

"All I can do is work hard and then what will be, will be," she added.

Dore is hoping Turner can help him gain the three winners he needs to achieve his aim of 30 before the year is out.

"She's had about 110 rides for me this year and has ridden 16 winners. Hopefully she can ride another couple of winners for me before the year is gone as I want to get to 30," said the Spalding trainer.

"I hope to have a few more runners in the next week or two and at least go close.

"I think Opus Maximus has a great chance. A slight negative is the track might be a bit tight for him, but he has a good turn of foot which suits Kempton.

"I thought his run the other day at Lingfield was quite strong in the context of this race.

"I'd be sweet on his chances and Hayley is very good on that type of horse.

"Lucky Art is probably weighted up to his best and he's not got a very good draw."
