Best of the day was DFCIRONMAN with 4/1 Benheir at Towcester. He climbs +6 places and is right back in contention again for a podium finish.

Next best was elvissss's 7/2 winner which moves him to within 28p of reaching daylight.

Grok consolidated his position in 4th, and Tightfisted jumps +2 places to land in 5th.

Poppydog clawed back +3 places with a 9/4 winner but he's still got a bit of work to do if he wants to get back up to Division 1.

£100 on One Shot 2 Shot

I thought I'd better check with you that you've read the rules before placing this bet for you as I suspect you wanted to place the money on One Shot to win @ 5/1.

    - all bets are for the Top 5 Market, with one exception: the ONLY person you can bet on in the Title market is yourself, subject to a maximum of £50


The competition is about betting for who gets promoted, not who wins the Division.
Basically, no-one's really trying to win it. Promotion is the Number 1 goal for everyone. It's not until a player feels secure about his promotion chances that he's going to make any attempt to win the title, so in that respect it's a field of non-triers.
Age 21 for example obviously feels his chances of promotion are now safe (which they probably are) as he went for a 16/1 shot yesterday. Why he didn't have a bet on himself first is a complete mystery as he would have stormed into the lead in both the Title race and the Promotion Betting Comp had it won.

So the Betting Comp is all about the place market. Trying to predict which 5 will go up and grabbing one, any or all of them while they're still a decent price.

I can put your £100 on One Shot 2 Shot @ 1/20 if that's what you want, but you've got no chance of winning the Competition obviously at that price.

For anyone thinking of having a late pop at the Promotion Betting Competition, you need to bear in mind that the maximum you can place on any one player one any one day is £100, and there is no betting allowed on the final day.
That means there are just 3 betting days left.

One Shot 2 Shot is currently in the lead in the Comp if things stay as they are, but he still has £400 left to bet with.
His current total is only £405, so if you've still got your entire bank of £500 left, a few shrewdly placed bets on 2 or 3 players who are still in with a chance could take it from him on the line.
