Yearly standings after Round 14 of 16:

Two rounds left and Each Way Thieves are in pole position, it's going to take some effort to prise the high score bonus away from them.
Very tight for 2nd spot with the Newbies just shading it at the moment.

The Rules

There will be 16 fortnightly rounds.
Each round and each week within rounds will begin on a Sunday and finish on a Saturday.
Each team will have 8 selections per week, one from each player, duplicate selections are allowed, no duplicate selections within teams at any time. Players must use their 1 selection per week, it cannot be carried over to the other week in the round.
10pts win or 5pts EW on British, Irish, French (as long as an industry SP is returned) or UAE racing and Breeder's Cup meeting, selected any day, Sunday through Saturday, the week ends on the last Saturday race.
Settled at SP, EW terms as industry standard.
Selections must be posted at least one hour before race time. On Saturdays there will be a 4pm cut-off for selections, that is you may pick in any race after that but it has to be posted by 4pm (1hr rule still applies).
Once you have posted a selection you are not allowed to change it or the stake, unless it becomes a non-runner or is a duplicate.
Non Runners - that team member may choose again for that week.

Team captains will be responsible for managing any wildcards required, there are no restrictions on their use, but please try and share them around so that no one individual is always claiming them. Please also name who the wildcard is for when posting.
If any player is absent for two weeks running without notice, they may be dropped from the comp.

Teams will start the week from a baseline of 0pts. This equates to 8 losing selections and/or non-selections.
Subsequent scores will be added to this baseline plus return of the winning part of the stake (10pts for win and EW winner, 5pts for EW placed). All scores count.
Scores will be accumulated through the fortnight, there will be no points awarded for weekly finishing positions.

Points structure for overall yearly comp:
Fortnightly winners will receive 8pts, runners-up - 7pts, 3rd - 6pts, 4th - 5pts, 5th - 4pts, 6th - 3pts, 7th - 2pts, 8th - 1pt
+ 8pts awarded at the end of the year for the best overall profit.

Best was hong kong fooey's 9/2 winner Lujano, nice one!
Then Ra Nova napped 11/8 winner Agent Archie, lester pickit got 4/9 for Forgotten Gold and werbie found 15/2 2nd Salerosa.

For those who were not around yesterday you missed a Real Theatre
after 11 months of highs & lows the real climax was building to a crescendo
with those Pesky Newbies down to their last three throws, 55 points down
They storm back into the lead with a 70 pt scorer something called Kauto Star ShockedShockedShocked
it was now the Thieves last throw,
the stage was set,
the drums were rolling,
the spotlights were on,
we were looking for our own Star, a Thieves Star
up steps Dessie
picking an 11-1 shot, in a 6f dash,
for a stable on the Cold Trainer list
you couldnt have written a better script
We're off its hustle & bustle
then with a thrilling last furlong dash
