TEAM TIPSTER COMP 2010 - FEB WEEK 1 News & Scores

Welcome to the Team Tipster Comp 2010 :)

This year we are going back to all teams in one, the basic format/rules are the same but I'll highlight the differences from last year.

Duplicate selections will be allowed during the week up until 2pm on Saturdays. No duplicates within teams at any time though.

The scoring will be as follows:
For each monthly round, weekly winners get 9pts, runners-up 7pts, down to 1pt for 8th spot.
Bonus points will now be earned on a weekly basis, so as the average weekly score per team was about 65pts when we were last all in one 2 yrs ago, teams will be able to earn 1 bonus point for each 66pts scored in any one week. For example a team scores 210pts in a week, they will receive 3 bonus points for scoring over 198 (3 x 66).
For the yearly comp, monthly winners will get 8pts, runners-up 7pts, down to 1pt for 8th spot, there will be a 8pt bonus at the end of the year for the team with best profit.

There will be a Champions League mini tournament at the end of the year, after the league finishes on November 27th, lasting two or three weeks (format yet to be finalised) and open to any team that completes 4 top 4 finishes in the 8 monthly rounds.

The Rules

Monthly rounds:
Each team will have 8 selections per week, one from each player, duplicate selections are allowed provided they are made prior to 2pm Saturday, no duplicate selections within teams at any time.
10pts win or 5pts EW on British, Irish, French (as long as an industry SP is returned) or Dubai racing , selected any day, Sunday through Saturday, last race eligible on Saturday is 6.0pm.
Settled at SP, EW terms as industry standard.
Selections must be posted at least one hour before race time.
Once you have posted a selection you are not allowed to change it or the stake, unless it becomes a non-runner or is a duplicate after the Saturday 2pm cut-off.
Leaving reserve instructions not allowed.
Non Runners - that team member may choose again for that week.

Wildcards will be available to make up shortfall of numbers or holiday absence. If they are confirmed in advance, then wildcards may be used anytime that following week. If not, then it will be treated as a late wildcard to be used only after noon on Saturday.
Late wildcards will be available after noon on Saturdays to cover unexpected absence so if you may be leaving your selection til after this time you should let your team know otherwise they may use it.
Maximum two wildcards or late wildcards per any one team member per week.
If any player is absent for two weeks running without notice, they may be dropped from the comp.

Teams will start the week from a baseline of 0pts. This equates to 8 losing selections and/or non-selections.
Subsequent scores will be added to this baseline plus return of the winning part of the stake (10pts for win and EW winner, 5pts for EW placed). All scores count.
If there is a tie on weekly profit (or lack of) between two or more teams then the total points for those positions will be shared equally.
Weekly winners will receive 9pts, runners-up - 7pts, 3rd - 6pts, 4th - 5pts, 5th - 4pts, 6th - 3pts, 7th - 2pts, 8th - 1pt
Teams will receive 1 bonus point for each 66pts scored in any one week. This will count towards the monthly points total.
If at the end of the month there is a tie on points between two or more teams then overall profit will be taken into account.

Points structure for overall yearly comp:
Monthly winners will receive 8pts, runners-up - 7pts, 3rd - 6pts, 4th - 5pts, 5th - 4pts, 6th - 3pts, 7th - 2pts, 8th - 1pt
+ 8pts awarded at the end of the year for the best overall profit.
