I know many of you have felt aggrieved at the sharp practices, low-handed tactics and sometimes downright cynical manipulation that has gone on this series.  This has been borne out by the voting figures released after Sunday's final.

Interesting to see some of these points picked up in today's Mirror...

http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/tv/2010/12/15/x-factor-itv-tell-simon-cowell-to-cut-the-sleaze-after-this-series-draws-5-000-complaints-115875-22784737/

Perhaps Cowell has gone too far and the tide is finally turning?!

Of course, we don't want to shoot the goose that lays the golden egg - and for my money at least, this is all part and parcel of the game...  The trick is trying to second guess how manipulative they are going to be (whether through running order, double elimination, or semi-final sing-offs).

It's certainly NOT a level playing field - and we all know that.  The question is how far they should be allowed to push it, before the cards are stacked up against everyone - punters, the public, and even the contestents...  I do think they may have gone too far this year.

I certainly think it's worth continuing to follow up any complaints you have with OfCom - and I'd be interested to know the outcome...

I suppose Dizzy SC's rampant manipulation this time had an end of term feel about it, it was so extreme before the final

Maybe that's the last time he'll appear as a judge, he certainly looked bored

But you can bet that 80% of the complaints aren't about this, but about little timmy seeing some ladies in suspenders

Problem is all the 'fix' complaints have got mixed up with the 'sex' complaints. As usual a smokescreen of untouchability surrounds Scowell, and he calls it his 'favourite' series, lol - terrible talent in general on show, but it's his favourite series.

I don't think Aguilera and Rihanna were raunchy enough and I intend to complain along those lines.

He didn't fix the winner though. Cardle was his 3rd favourite act. He did look immensely bored when he realised he hadn't got OD anywhere near to the winners podium.

I agree.  Pans people were more raunchy on Top of the Pops back in the 70's ffs
