I'd have thought he's possibly as marketable as other male whiney singers, the James Blunts, David Greys, Coldplay, etc depressive dirge-fest singers - not a fan myself, but some obviously are.

i reckon his first record will probably sell ok, probably loads of covers, James Blunt type stuff. Then he'll probably try and write his own stuff and fade into obscurity.
