Backs up that Cher did well last night, prolly unlucky to go out
|
|

Yes, ironic that the one week she outshone the rest and performed the best would be when she finally got kicked out!

Happens a lot Dizzy

The youtube stats are obviously not representative of the public vote!

Cher has always done exceptionally well on youtube

GB, I've been following those and both 1D and Cher have often beaten Rebecca.
Which means she often out performs those figures in the actual vote and 1D and Cher under perform them It makes me much more confident that Rebecca will be 2nd. |

People tend to go when they stop getting the manipulation to support them rather than based on performance in this show - it's a shame. |

The itv xf thumbs up figures that is

Very true shrewdy. Even Waggy couldn't manage without the manipulation

Actually prefer it this way myself, makes it easier to predict

FLL - I happen to think that a large part of Rebecca's vote is pretty much invisible on many of the usual measures, being by people who use those sort of sites less - means she still has a chance of winning IMO.

I'm talking the 35+ and 45+ (and even 55+) female voter brackets - potentially less 'internet' based.

Indeed. Just looking at last weeks figs.
Amazing Grace was rated below both Matt and 1D's 2nd performances. Yet if othh is correct we know she beat 1d in the vote.. |

The ironic thing is that Cher was not helped at all by going last with the lines being opened early. Even more ironically, Cher would have been a better choice (from an entertainment perspective) to have opened the show because at least she had energy and zip. It makes me think that either (a) they got it or wrong or (b) they were resigned to losing Cher.

.. so if she's ahead of 1d on that measure, I think she's comforatbly ahead of them and in 2nd.

She was certainly treat like the also ran in the judges comments

My theory is Cowell wanted 1D out, so they'd be all over the sunday papers.
Cher to leave early tonight which would leave the Rebecca v Matt showdown. A showdown he wanted as close as he could make it, as we saw with Matt going on 1st and in the same section as Rebecca who performed before the ad break each time. |

Maybe, but doubt he cared all that much. He's got the final he wanted, by hook or by crook, he's virtually out of ramps now, and has assumed 'fair contest' mode
He'll get the M&R 'showdown' anyway fwiw |

and has assumed 'fair contest' mode
Cowell wouldn't know the meaning of those words! |

Yes, it was true to form for this season's cynical X-ploitation. They moved the goal posts yet again and opened the lines from the start of the show - thus handing the advantage to those that were on first and making last place a handicap. Matt had 3/4 of an hour of voting time over poor Cher before she appeared on stage!
Don't they normally wait until every act has performed once? Certainly not this time - again ensuring they have the final three they wanted. As GB said, they virtually consigned her to the dustbin with their comments anyway - only just stopped short of talking about her in the past tense! |
