Must admit captain before tonight I thought he wanted to stop Matt, but if he had wanted that he would have waited till all four had sung before opening the phone lines. The second indicator was having him last safe which always boosts their vote as it implies they are in danger. So hes done nothing to harm his chances tonight which suggests he has accepted the inevitable a Matt victory.

For me he was pimping Rebecca e.g. both songs before adverts so longer to vote for her fresh in mind, "vote rebecca" subliminal messages in the crowd shots, undermining 1D by stressing how good she (and matt) were.
I think he wants a matt/beccy final 2. |

If Rebecca is not in the top 2 cowell knows the show is over and will have no crediblity.
