A point to note if the RO becomes known - according to today's papers, phonelines open at the START of the show, 5 mins in, not after everyone's sung once. Obviously if that's the case then singing first may well hold the advantage rather than last. Good luck everyone.

What an uninspiring list.

GL Everybody

And despite all the handbags at dawn, hissy fits and histrionics, I think a lot of us are gunning for similar results.

Matt the best result, esp with a few multis involved.
Then Rebecca.
Then Cher.

Matt/Rebecca 1st/2nd and top 2s all good.

And if OD manage it, I will probably feel like ODing, unless they manage to hit something approaching double figures over the weekend.

Yes, OTHH they have a countdown to voting time on the XF site which indicates voting opens very soon into the show.

GL and many thanks for all your input.

Agreed TM, it is well disappointing.

Well, if the polls are to be believed, Matt and Rebecca should be polling twice as many as the other two acts.

Yes all debating for months, especially the undermining of Matt's chances throughout, and the ramping of Rebecca gets thrown out of the window when final weekend begins in earnest. This is when the magic books manifest themselves, with cries of 'Matt's my biggest green, ya know' LaughCool

Ha Cider Laugh, just because you're no longer around day in day out to debate the impact of every poll, every singing position, every song choice, every media article . . .

And speculate what might or might not happen over the ten weeks.

You miss it really.

You'll miss it during DOI.

My 2 antepost bets this year are Matt & OneD, but given Matt's illness and the huge Rebecca push on seemingly every front this week, I've ended up hitting the Rebecca quadcast in the past few days as coverage... 7/1 seemed a very fair price too! But as per Sqaures, Matt still my best result as in doubles with Strictly etc.

All that is left to be said is good luck all for tonight! Happy

Financially it's not turned out too bad. Miss first bite at a few markets, XF was fine but the SCD OR was carved up before I could play. The daily debate has gone but I do get to log in most night to see if anything juicy has occured, without posting.

Dido track appears ideal for Matt, 'acoustic' version with a bit of life and his trusty guitar?

Dido Cry

my opinion of Dido from the other thread:

Dido was popular for a very short space of time, happened to be a sad time in my life so awful memories associated with the dreary dirges too.

Always been a bit of a kiss of death on XF and the like too I think.

I actually had Dido's CD (I know, I know - wtf was I thinking of), gave it away to someone who kept playing it and I ended up having to listen to it even more than I had before.

Surely the value lies with Cher who has gone from 38 to 95 whilst her elimination price has been fairly stable.

If Cher can get into the Top 3, which is not impossible, given a possible bounce and the fixing up of 1D, then the price could crash.

right then - i was keeping one d as a nice green until a few weeks ago and started laying it off.  made it a level result earlier in the week, and have now gone massive red at these prices.

Yep, best of luck all.

Time to sit back and enjoy the Matt coronation. Or is it???
Still holding a candle for Lady Rebecca. Either/or a good result for me. But would much prefer Becca. As long as Cher doesn't top her I'm very happy!
