Currently trading at 50s to win.  I don't think she's likely to win but it's a great trading price.

Here's a Twitter stat for you.  LoveCher and HateCher are both current trending topics. Yes she has more haters than the other three put together but it's not a negative vote (at least until the final 2)so what does that matter? On Youtube she easily outscores 1D for views, and holds her own with the other two.

I think Danni was right with her comment about how she should have sung a ballad to get into the final.  There's not been enough crossover appeal from her in recent weeks, and her confidence seems to have taken a big dent, but if she can find another 'Stay' to add to a 'Turn my Swag On' she can do it.

Joe

Not for me she's 50/1 for a reason and I would never have had her there instead of Mary tonight.  The sing off .............. Cher the better of th etwo? Surely not.
Report GymTanLaundry December 6, 2010 1:12 AM GMT
cher was dire in the sing off.  very strained.

mary wasn't great either.  but then the sing off was just a charade to get rid of mary.

cher very very likely to be bottom of vote both this week and 2 weeks ago when paije was eliminated.

nobody this divisive can possibly win the x factor.

but more importantly, an arrogant little turd of a person like cher lloyd cannot win such a huge mainstream popularity contest.

Can't agree. Cher is in a completely different league to Mary, as are all the other finalists for that matter.  We all have our opinions but the general dismissive attitude of people on here of her as a virtual non-runner is I think largely because the typical Betfair gambler is not the typical Cher fan.  Some of the posts over the last week or so are wishful thinking from them.  Usually with the word 'chav' included to help back up their expert analysis.

I think she has lost it a bit in recent weeks, hence the two sing-off appearances, but people have forgotten what she is capable of at her best.  People on here that is... not Cowell and the other judges who have saved her without a second thought both times.

regular joe - people who bet on their personal view on how much they like a contestant are heading to the poor house.

i cannot stand cher, although i am a fan of the genre of music she's claiming to be "re-inventing".

however that has very little impact on what i think of her chances of winning.  to think she can win this competition is simply pie in the sky nonsense.

Cher Lloyd - useless.
Report regular joe December 6, 2010 2:00 AM GMT
I don't think she will win - I think Matt will win - but I do think she can win, at least more than odds of 50s imply, and i certainly think she can survive the next elimination.  I think it's a trading price, which is exactly what I said in my first post.

The opposite to you, I love Cher, her talent and her stage presence, yet I am not really a fan of her type of music. And for every person watching the XF Final like you there will be a person like me, and more importantly my teenage kids, and their Facebook friends, who are all for Cher to win.  I'd rather take their views as a guide than the balanced analysis of someone who writes her off in the same sentence as calling her an arrogant little turd.

I think it's a trading price, which is exactly what I said in my first post.

you may have a point here, especially if she gets a huge name to duet with.  will be interesting to hear the rumours on this, as this could make or break some of the contestants.

totally irrelevant and actually inaccurate.  irrelevant because i don't vote.  it's votes that count, not fans.  and i would say that for each person like you or your kids of their friends that wants cher to win, there will be 4 or 5 that utterly utterly detest the girl.  marmite doesn't even do justice to how divisive this girl is among the voters.

I'd rather take their views as a guide than the balanced analysis of someone who writes her off in the same sentence as calling her an arrogant little turd.

let me know how that words out for you.

and by the way, when you refer to cher's "talent", what exactly do you mean by that?  her ability to rap badly?
Report artie December 6, 2010 2:13 AM GMT
TT (totally talentless)

TYPO above (it's late!)
*let me know how that works out for you*

I say that I'd rather take their views as a guide because they vote.  I allow my kids one vote each on the landline, and I know they add to that by wasting their PAYG credit on extra votes.  I know their friends vote.  It's all they talk about at weekends on FB.  So maybe I'm in some strangely atypical Cher-loving part of Britain but I do listen to what they say.  I've also been surprised for a bunch of teenage girls how little interest they have had in voting for 1D.

As for her talent, I mean that she is the only performer left in this year's competition.  The others all just sort of stand there.  The rapping is a bit 'meh' for me, but she can certainly sing. 'Stay' was the most captivating performance of the whole series.
Report regular joe December 6, 2010 2:23 AM GMT
... oh, and tonight it worked out very well for me thanks.  They all said Mary wouldn't knock out Cher in a million years.  I agreed and am a bit wealthier tonight as a result.  Had I listened to people on here I'd be significantly poorer.
Report GymTanLaundry December 6, 2010 2:26 AM GMT
you do know that despite your kids and their friends multi-voting, cher has been bottom 2 twice?  and i'd wager heavily that she was bottom of the vote in both those weeks?
Report attitude adjuster December 6, 2010 2:27 AM GMT
i think trading may be risky in this final joe.

4 finalists..could be lots of suspensions,maybe 3rd and 4th going together.

If you're hoping to trade off if she reaches 3rd,then you could be denied that opportunity.

mind you at 50s,it's not likely to be a big hit.
Report 247lol December 6, 2010 2:29 AM GMT
Cher is RAW talent(unbiased view,lol)
They made it 4 in the final to wangle Cher in.
Simply because given guidance over the next few years, theyre going to find out exactly who she is.
And they need to show her to the public
She is probably the most interesting of the remaining contestants.
She says hip hop,i say not.
Prepare yourselves for a surprise in the future.
I think shes better than that.
And the vote off was a fix by the way.
But Simon is god isnt he?
Well he was in the sun newspaperLaugh
Report regular joe December 6, 2010 2:35 AM GMT
I know that in Beatles week none of them voted for Cher as they hated Imagine (can't remember, but I think their votes were split between Matt and Wagner) so that one was no surprise to me. They did all vote Cher this week and loved her performances but I wasn't so keen personally, and both Rebecca and 1D performed well.

On her form of the last few weeks I agree Cher could well be bottom of the 4 remaining.  On her audition or early series form she could come close to winning.  that's all I'm saying.  With that I'm off to bed, good luck next week.
Report regular joe December 6, 2010 2:42 AM GMT
Agree with your post aa.

My maximum expectation to be honest at the moment is 2nd, as the haters can negative vote to add to her opponent's core vote.

So final 2 is the point I would be looking to fully trade out if possible.  If I lose it all I won't be in the poorhouse.
Report GymTanLaundry December 6, 2010 2:45 AM GMT
to win the show she needs a lot more than a return to her early series form.

she needs to win over the huge amount of first time voters who will get involved in the final.

she needs to win over voters who were voting for mary and the acts that finish 3rd and 4th.

when i saw her audition, i hated her.  when i saw her early series performances i hated her.  she's the sort of act that if you hate, you don't change your mind.  and she's the sort of act that won't pick up floating voters.  i also know people who thought she was great at first but have been seriously put off recently by her disgusting attitude - and she won't be getting that support back.

i'm fairly certain she'll alienate the majority of the mums and housewives around the country, who'll vote for "that nice girl rebecca", or those "cute lads in one direction", or "that lovely matt".

i just can't see how she generates enough votes to win the final - a stage when historically there are as many votes cast as in all the other live shows combined.
