They wouldn't get involved with last stitch up. Is this one different? That said I think we all should complain. Shocking (again) tonight.

George Bailey 10 21:23 They wouldn't get involved with last stitch up. Is this one different? That said I think we all should complain. Shocking (again) tonight. They clearly state this is a public vote and the one with the lowest vote goes, this is disregarding the public vote, however more seriously they took money for the phone votes which counted sweet FA towards the final result. does ofcome care it was fixed ? No does ofcome care money was taking for votes under false pretences, ala the phone comps scandal ? Yes The only get out i can see SC trying, is that they changed the judges vote from who to send home to who goes through to the final (dermot was very specific about this). So they can claim that the person with the lowest judges vote gets eliminated. I hope Ofcom see through this. My complaint is already on it's way. Power to the people and all that! |
|
By:
Forget OFCOM, the police should be involved in this.
|
|
By:
i think this is a total scandal but lets be clear - did dermot ever say tonight would be judges only, or was it just advance literature like radio times and newspapers. where did it definitely say it would be lowest vote out...

Sensible post from Nick. Also, re Louis's comments on Irish radio. was he perhaps being a bit mischievous, knowing fine well his act was going home either way?
|
|
By:
why bother, they can't do anything. It these things that make XF so good to bet on imo. Just accept the show is bent and try to make some money from it.
|
|
By:
Betting_quant good point re o'leary stressing who judge was sending to final. Wondered what that nonsense was all about. So cowell is saying he's cleared because the judges was a +ve vote? That bird won't fly.
Looks like toady o'leary isn't getting the usa job so every cloud etc.... Mary looked well cheesed off. Wonder when she was told it was a sing off? I'm sure she will tell all. |
|

All i know is that i backed Cher on the crystal clear understanding from reading this flippin forum that it was being decided by a public vote.
Never mind offcom - Cher backers should have a ramping ombudsman to complain to. |

YOU MUST COMPLAIN AND USE THE LINK!
tHIS IS A COPY OF WHAT I POSTED. iF YOU DO NUTTIN THEN U R AS BAD AS THEY ARE :( Programme title: The X Factor Date and time of broadcast (e.g. 01 January 2009 23:00): 05 Dec 2010 20:00 Channel / station: ITV1 London Subject: VOTING IRREGULARITIES ON X FACTOR TONIGHT Description (please use 1500 characters or less): My complaint is that based on the link attached http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/2675/65688832.jpg we the public were led to believe by X Factor that the person with the lowest number of votes would be eliminated tonight. What is the point of me spending my money on a vote to keep my act in the competition if Simon Cowell is going to change the rules to keep in the act that he wants to keep. I HAVE WASTED MY MONEY AND I FEEL VIOLATED BY THIS BLATANT THEFT. There needs to be more transparent rules of what is a public vote and what is. I would like my money back! VERY P*SSED OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The percentage votes for tonight will be out soon at the end of the show and if Cher Lloyd has less votes than Mary from this weekends show then that will confirm that Simon Cowell saw fit to change what was advertised on the X Factor site and changed our vote to his and his alone! . |

So there's no possibility of anyone except a bloke with the word f*** in his name being able to calm down and actually analyze the actual events in a rational way?
Pity. I'm off to get p1shed then. |

From the contestant entry form (2007), which gives a clue to the rules:
You acknowledge and agree to abide by the rules regulations terms and conditions for this competition (the "Rules") and that the Rules may be changed (including without limitation verbally) at any time by the Company and that you will be bound by such Rules. The Company’s decisions shall be final |

I lost money this evening. ANgry at first but now I just have to laugh! What a bent, fix of a coup! Simon is acting in his self interest, so I can't blame him for that. Those that persuaded me to back Cher, I can't blame them as they worked to find an angle and was sharing what they thought was a good thing, they didn't know that Simon would stitch everyone up like them. You live and learn.

journeyman - the name was an old nickname that me and my mate used to call each other. doesnt mean i dont have serious gravitas
![]() it seems it was only on the itv website and a louis interview, so in truth we havent really got much of a case. they can always say the itv website was misinformed. it wasnt as it dermot had announced it and they reneged. i lost a lot of cash backing cher to be bottom on the strict understanding it was bottom goes. i feel cheated, but as mikey says, accept the show is as it is, try to uderstand it better and make money from it where you can. |

That's the contestant's contract crisp77 where is the voters?

They haven't reneged on anything as, programme guide aside, they haven't said anything.
But they are surely duty bound to explain to the viewers what they are voting for. Millions of pounds are involved! |

you dont have any rights, they can do whatever they want, they wont take your complaing seriously

From another post, but relevant here:
Was anyone REALLY surprised to see a sing off - after last week's double elimination made a return to get rid of Wagner? This year the rule book has gone out of the window - wild cards, random double eliminations, erratic running order, outrageous ramping, repeated pimp slots, and now the sing off in the semi. But before we get too wound up about it, surely these are all the same reasons why there's money to be made in second guessing all of the above?! I know that's why I love it... This is the first time that we've had five acts in a semi final, first time that four will be in a final - so there was always going to be a good chance they would move the goalposts to get the outcome they wanted. |

20:00 - The X Factor (ITV1)
Series 7, Episode 9: Britain has been voting over the last 24 hours and now the semi-finalists find out the result of the public vote. The act with the fewest votes will leave the competition, and the others will compete in next week's final. Including live performances from the cast of hit US series Glee, former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and chart-topping group the Black Eyed Peas. Hosted by Dermot O'Leary. zoom said it.
The rules should be spelt out before each show & it's a farce that ITV can get away with what they're currently doing. OFCOM are a joke & a disgrace. |
