Yes touch and go that. In theory he would get a bye like Diana did but at such a late stage to give him a bye into the final is a bit much. Fingers crossed he'll be ok.

Been confirmed if he misses he is out!

Where's it say that? Cheers |

Story on yahoo suggests he'll be out if unable to perform. I reckon croaking his way thru he has enough support to make the final. Nonetheless, I've laid some green off at 1.8 just in case.

Yes I'm sure whatever happens he'll give it a go. With the sympathy vote hes hould still be ok touch wood! One other thing to consider is that having watched this for 5 years now I must have heard of about 20 acts that were struggling with colds, sore throats, lost their voice, flu etc yet only one Diana Vickers has actually not sang so hopefully he'll be ok. |

It cost Diana Vickers the show, people see a bye as grossly unfair.

It hardly cost her the show. She was never anywhere near as good as Alexandra. At a push I preferred Eggnog to her and he was poor! |

Feeling very poorly today, really trying to get lots of rest in for the weekend. Still very excited about being in the semi finals ! xx 22 minutes ago via web * Reply * Retweet |

Fair enough Lou but I'll be laying the a$$ off his odds if his sore throat continues into the final.

Seems like Matt has been telling porkies from the off.Breaking show rules, coming from a public school,£500 a week music lessons, not really a painter decorator now
the probably fake stories about him losing voice then probably finding it again to win votes.I dont belive anything he says and he is now worried that people will see through his pub singer ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh performances. The guy is really worried about what Rebecca can do.He even seems to use his anti cowell to gain votes.Total fake in my book. |

The poor lamb he'll be ok.

Reminiscent of Diana seen screaming at the top of her voice on a ride before getting a bye in the Live shows.
|

By:
He can't be that bad if he's still smoking which is not a great thing for singers at the best of times.

Sympathy lasts one week on XF only imo.
Vickers had the highest vote the week after her absence, but thereafter was toast as her momentum had gone and performances dipped. |

Yes but if he gets the 'sympathy vote' and gets through on it he'll be in the final next week which gives him a week to recover. Fingers crossed I hope he'll be ok though I can understand some thinking 'fingers crossed he won't be ok'! |

I see the Cowell/Clifford machine has got us all at it again.
Well its a week before the final and boring Matt Cardle has had people talking every week of the comp. He is also a young fanciable male and he is a good (not great) singer. Whoever beats him has to be exeptional. None of the others have proved themselves exceptional. Rebecca backers belive at some stage she wil do one mind boggling performance. 1D backers think there are enough brainless voters who will do what Simon tells them. I am intersted again now that is one day to the semi. Surely if its another good week for Matt the voters will have made their minds up before the final. |

By:
I think they've already made their minds up Melv. Matt by a distance.
|
|
By:
all other forums and online polls have matt as the clear winner with almost 50 % of the vote.

He was seen smoking yesterday too and that can't have helped his cause! |

its just the Cowell publicity machine at work...
do you ever notice how these stories always manage to come out on a thursday or friday just in time for the live shows on the weekend.. so if poor matt has a cold or flu or whatever = more sympathy votes= more £££ for Simon and Co.. |

Wish I was as confident as you that he's ok. Apart from Diana Vickers I can't remember one other instance in the past where the cold, cough, sore throat, flu etc hasn't cleared up and they've all sang fine come Saturday night but it does seem from little bits we hear that he's struggling. I hope he's ok. |
