He's said that a few times, while Cher's mum has said that she feels detached from Louis (and Dannii) as they don't show as much interest as the Cowell/Cole axis.
Probably both parties could have made more of an effort but who knows how it's really ended up that way.
A shame as he seemed so enthusiastic about her early doors (and she seemed receptive).

They're really ramping the Irish vote for Mary.
