Anybody know the odds going into the final last year? Ideally I want to know odds going into weekend pre sat show, and then pre sunday show.

Someone on here will know without a doubt.  There's some good people on here with stats/figures etc.

Joe was about 1.6 I'm sure in the week before.
Murs about 3.5 and Stacey 7 from memory - I'm sure people will be able to correct me if I'm far out.

Thanks Asparagus Man, anyone got anything further to add? Do the odds ever drop below 1.5 on final night for the fav.

All depends on who the last two are but as things stand with Matt being 1.79 now with five still left in it he could well be 1.5 or shorter still even if he makes the last two.

Absolutely scooby.
I can remember people on here this time last year genuinely saying they felt Gino d'Acampo was value at 1.3ish close to finals night.
He went much shorter than that. Was a 1/10 shot with some of the high st bookies. Can't say with certainty his smallest price.
Rhydian a few years back was a 1/7 or 1/8 shot on finals night and was turned over by a Leon/Kylie duet!
Short odds on shots get turned over every day of the week.
Could it happen again this year??? DUN DUN DUN!!! Shocked

Thanks Lou this is what im thinking too I can't see the odds drifting out any further its just with two weeks stil to go I thought it was quite short and wanted to compare with last years.

When the next two go who I would presume would be Cher and Mary id of been looking at a drop to 1.5, but with the possiblity of 4 acts in the final i just thought this was too short.

Scooby if he steals the show on Saturday and Rebecca/1D fail to make any meaningful impact like last week he will be about 1.4 imo going into the final.

and then he'll hit 1.3 when he sings 'the 1st time ever I saw your face'in the final

Bunny, you think he'll sing that AGAIN?
It'll only be his third time doing it in a 10 live show competition!

Shows how banal this drivel has become if so

i remember joe was 1.4 just before the announced him the winner

I'm sure he'll do 'First Time Ever' if he makes the final.  It's such a spine tingling performance that is way ahead of anything else we've seen this year that wouldn't you do it if it were you.

Bardo, if Joe was a 1.4 shot then no way Matt's price goes sub 1.5 imho
Different gravy the pair.
When you consider the threats to a Joe or Matt victory, then similarly Rebecca's in a different class to Olly.
So by simple rationale a weaker fave this year V a stronger challenger SHOULD make for a bigger Matt price on finals night. SHOULD

I really can't see anyone making an impact now enough to upset Matt as the fav, Rebeccas has given us all she has to offer which is minimal and 1D seems to pull out the same stuff each week. If Matt steams it this week then its surely a done deal, which im completely fine with. Especially if he sings 'First Time Ever.'

Not that im a fan of him singing that I hasten to add just that I think it will be game over.

Yes I wouldn't say Matt is a 9/10 act to be honest but what's up against him isn't great at all.  He's Group 2 up against two 81 -95 handicappers.

If Mary and Cher were to go I would guess he'll be about 1.6 going into the final 3.

One thing worth noting is I don't think I've ever seen a favourite lengthen during the show - they have always shortened.

Lou - good luck to him if he does sing it.
Could leave himself in the hands of the God if he does....
"Your third time singing this song, Matt??? Hmmm - you could have been a bit more original. Liked it the first time. Loved it the second time. Bored the b@ll@cks off me the thrid time!"

Personally, I think it's an insult to any intelligent viewing audience to sing the same song THREE times in a 10 show format - that's all.
You ever been to a concert where a major act has had a huge hit and sang it 3 times in one gig???
By:
grendel
When: 30 Nov 10 13:27
He's only sung it once on the live shows, perfectly entitled to sing it again on finals night when they ask them to pick one song from the live shows they would like to do again ... longer version would be game over if it isn't already

If Cher makes it we will be getting Stay again for the third time guaranteed.

I do see your point of course although grendel has rightly pointed out that he has only done it once in the live shows.  See what you mean about the possible judges comments though "Your third time singing this song, Matt??? Hmmm - you could have been a bit more original. Liked it the first time. Loved it the second time. Bored the b@ll@cks off me the thrid time!" (or words to that effect!) but I think it's such a showstopper that I can't blame him for doing again.

Yes can't blame Cher either.  Her shining hour - wouldn't you do it again.

A lot was traded on Joe at 1.26, I don't know if he went lower.
