Does Simon really believe in 'One Direction' ?
Two of them sing, while the others go "Ooh" and "Argh".
They can't dance, they have no charisma and I must admit, I am absolutley baffled as to what is going on here.
Oh, I get it. Simon pushes buttons. And these buttons are 'yes'  buttons. Silly me.

He saw how successful JLS have been and that boy bands old and new seem to be back to popularity and Cowells want some share of the teen market.

i think cowell and walsh think they can make a fortune out of them, i genuinely do. and they will, once this pesky live singing show is out of the way and they can autotune them to buggery. i've laid off all by OD green (at far too high a price, as it turns out) but I still think they're guaranteed to make the last three.

i too have been waiting for the others to take a lead role in ONE DIRECTION...totally agree with OP on that point

He only has to believe in them long enough to get to the final...  Even semi probably good enough - then they can do a JLS and still rake in the money.

I've said it before, the ideal scenario for Cowell is for Matt or Rebecca to win, with 1D finishing 2nd or 3rd.  They don't need to win to generate big cash for Syco.
