LAST YEAR I SAW NO CHANCE OF JEDWARD WINNING THE X FACTOR BUT PERHAPS THIS YEAR FOR WAGNER IT IS VERY DIFFERENT. I'M BY NO MEANS SAYING HE WILL WIN AS THINGS DO START TO CHANGE WHEN THEIR 'FAVOURITES' START TO GET VOTED OFF BUT THE MOMENTUM OF DISCONTENT IS BUILDING AND PERHAPS PEOPLE ARE USING WAGNER TO DEMONSTRATE THE THE POWER OF THE PEOPLE OVER EVERYTHING ELSE. WHETHER THE DISCONTENT IS WITH THE SHOW IN GENERAL, THE MANIPULATION, SIMON COWELL, CHERYL COLE OR JUST AN OVERALL REBELIOUS ATTITUDE DUE TO SAYING 'WE ARE SICK OF BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO' ..... ITS PROBABLY A COMBINATION OF ALL OF THESE.

ANYWAY, SAY WAGNER WINS THE X FACTOR. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SHOW NEXT YEAR? THE NOVELTY / CHEESY ACTS MAKE THE SHOW MORE INTERESTING IN THE EARLY STAGES BUT SURELY WAGNER WINNING WOULD BE FINANCIALLY LUCRATIVE FOR ITV THIS YEAR BUT DAMAGING FOR THE SHOWS REPUTATION IN FUTURE YEARS

OK HORSE

Just to let you know though you're a complete idiot and YOUR CAPS LOCK IS ON.  It just takes one second to touch the button and it magically goes.  It's about halfway down on the extreme left of your keyboard.

I've become confused and disorientated. Has Horse posted something sensible? The second paragraph of the OP is quite intelligent Confused

(Of course Wagner won't win so it's academic).
Report GymTanLaundry November 25, 2010 10:21 AM GMT
i thought cowell had signed a contract with ITV for 3 more years of x factor?

why would they not run it again next year?  it's a cash cow for all involved (except the contestants!)?

but like Hviii says, it's academic as he won't win.

He has GTL, but XF in America launches in Autumn 2011.

Word seemed to be that BGT was being moved back to Autumn 2011 and XF to early 2012, so SCowell can concentrate on XF US.

HENRY - I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT BOTH THE PARAGRAPHS ARE VERY INTELLIGENT. IN FACT ALL MY POSTS ARE INTELLIGENT!
Report alfie46 November 25, 2010 10:28 AM GMT
maybe cowell will stop taking the p@ss with choice of contestants and having the "x factor" will mean exactly that.
Report squares November 25, 2010 10:31 AM GMT
although more recent articles suggest BGT will return late Spring

Henry,

There has always been a level of humour to match the fantasy in HP150's posts.

I would rather have 5 of him on the forum than 1 Lou tbh.

if waggy wins S Cowell holds it up as people power and says is'nt that great how anyone no matter how bad can still win, the lines at the next x-factor try outs will be twice as long, novilty records by waggy may sell ok, its not as if S cowell needs to make a profit out of the winner the tv show is the cash cow.

last year the fight was in the charts x-factor . RATM
this year its in the show waggy v the field
suits Cowell more phone votes he laughs all the way to the bank, itv wont give a dam if waggy wins, they only care about viewer numbers

If Wagner wins, can someone calculate how much revenue this will generate from the phone voting alone?

Can someone then estimate the increase in revenue ITV ad sellers could be asking for if Wagner so much as makes the final, what with the orgy of publicity (heaped on top of the current 'excess all media platforms' X-Factor currently gets)

Does anyone know how much of a rake of Simon Cowell / SyCo TV would get from all this?

So to answer the OP's question:

X-Factor will not change a jot, except Cowell will have an even bigger erection and mountain of money to bury it in.

disagree roger, think it would be a huge huge embarrassment for him and the brand as a whole

Some comments from a US XF discussion in EW:

Yes! It’s time for America to have it’s own Wagner, its own Jon & Edward, it’s own Same Difference!  If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you haven’t lived yet. Google ‘em.

We are in trouble! The whole Wagner v Cheryl thing is so for the ratings. That Cher is kind of stalker-ish!

X Factor UK is one of my favorite shows so I can’t wait for Us X Factor. I have to watch the UK version online every weekend. It has it’s own Bristol Palin this season in the form of a contestant named Wagner, who has a real shot at making the finals as well even though he is a horrible singer lol..he can be entertaining though. I read that most of his voters are only voting for him to get back at Simon and Cheryl Cole..

looking forward to it as long as non-talents like the UK’s show…Wagner and Jon & Edward don’t get though. If so then its Vote for the Worst!

You think so?

Fair enough.

I'm definitely in the 'any publicity is good publicity' camp as far as this show and surrounding palaver is concerned. As for Cowell being embarrassed, he's got thicker hide than a rhino and could put up with any amount of 'embarrasment' for another sackful of cash.
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B November 25, 2010 4:12 PM GMT
roger

I do disagree with you.  Whilst I can see what difference does it make who wins as long as say 5 million votes come in I'm sure in an ideal world that winner would be a Matt, One D, Rebecca than a laughing stock like Wagner.
