McCartney endorses whilst lennon spins in his grave, interesting.  Why not just take all the contestants to his grave and let them piiss on it.

Matt - When listening the first time I thought it was poor, didn't like the way he tried to force his voice in a way that just didn't work but after listening to some of the dross that went after him then it wasn't sounding bad at all.

Cher - decent in parts but overall another ropey performance which was partly about being given this song.  It just doesn't work with a young girl singing this sort of song.

Wand Erection - Talking of dross, how the hell Cowell calls them world class without smirking is beyond me.  They had backing on the harmonies and most of the individual singing was poor to say the least.  Every week i think to myself that they can't be as bad as I think they are but then they prove me wrong.

Rebecca - I love Rebecca but this was just poor, another awful song choice that just did not suit her style at all but having said that she didn't even sing it that well.  A real step backwards for her.

Mary - At last a decent performance, Mary sang very well and was given a song that suited her, should mobilise her voters and assure her safety.

Paige - Amazingly two decent performance in a row, did a decent if not eye catching version of a great song.  I just worry that although it was good it was just not good enough and everyone who has sung after a good Mary performance has suffered, unfortunately could be in trouble.

Wagner - The joke has worn thin with me now, he has gone from entertaining to just being an annoying letch.  Unfortunately his nice pre arranged so called spat with Biffa may just save him.

Katie - It appears that katie has been thrown off the show and replaced by Mr Tumnus fresh in from Narnia.  Having said that and despite not liking the arrangement of the song I thought Mr T sang really well and showed off the tone of her/his/its voice.

How anyone can think Rebecca is anything but average is beyond comprehension and last night proved it....

Best three performances by a country mile were the 2 they love to hate...Katie and Cher (despite those hideous stairs) and Fat Mary....

Got to be Paige and Wagner bottom 2...if Katie went on this weeks performance would be a travesty...

I think last night summed up once and for all....this years intake are distinctly very very average!

Doing the Elton week followed by Beatles week doesn't seem to make any sense at all.  SCowell bangs on about being "current" and "relevant" and not karaoke, but these weeks have resulted in the opposite.  I can't see that it's good for votes or downloads.  It also seems to be very difficult for anyone to deliver a "wow" moment with such themes too.

Matt - for me two disappointing weeks since "First Time . . .".  GYBR was all over the place in parts and last night's song and staging didn't suit him.  I don't think it's a problem for his real fans/core voters but can't see it is going to gain any new support.

Cher - just a weak, thin, warbling vocal last night following on from same old same old the previous week.  Once again, she's not going to be getting any fresh support and even her most rampant young fans must be getting bored.

OD - they've probably had two decent weeks (for them) where they haven't disappointed their fans/voters.  Are the mediocre performances of the others making them looks better than they really are?

Rebecca - like Matt really with two dull songs for the two weeks since MYFML.  I've never liked either song so they don't do anything for me.  I assume a lot of the core voters like them but those performances wouldn't have wowed them.

Mary - the most competent performance last night and OK for EJ week, but only doing what we know she can do.  There's still something lacking in her delivery? for me - like singing by numbers?, can't quite put my finger on it.  Safe by keeping her supporters happy though, I'm sure.

Paije seems to have two-tone performances with moments of greatness interspersed with massive dollops of cheese.  Doing enough to keep his fans happy but something needs to change.

Wagner - at least two weeks of something light hearted in amongst all the doom and gloom, but joke is wearing thin now.  I can't see he has many more weeks in him.

Katie - hard to judge her properly with all the rest of the baggage that surrounds her.  A couple of great performances but a lot more that have been utter gash.  She surely couldn't survive another B2 after SCowell's words to Rachel Adeleje last year??

Show seems to have hit a bit of a wall with these one-artist themes.  It needs a kick up the @rse and to get back to basics with the music/singing taking precedence above all the other carp that goes with it (fat chance though).

I'm bored.
