not a great price if x-factor is a non runner
|

Do you think it's likely Cowell will admit defeat against the campaigns to stop X factor being number 1, and also not give the winning contestant the opportunity for the coveted position?
|
|
By:
or can Cowell get a number 1 tv show on x-mas day and boxing day, and make the cash himself and fck the winner
nothing is sure so there is risk with x-factor number 1 x-mas market |
|
By:
it was reported today on the news that a x-factor tv advert is £200,000 for a 30 second slot, the winners record sales are not the money earner its the tv show

Isn't Take That going to be a major challenger for this?
Not the free money it was in some years? |

I'd have thought 1.5 was value. Last year's RATM campaign had a freshness and momentum that I'd be surprised if it was to be repeated (good luck though!). Why would it be a non runner mach?
|
|
By:
its a non runner if the winners song is not put out till after x-mas
|

By:
Sorry missed that. Is that confirmed or just a theory? Can't see Cowell throwing in the towel publicly like that.

i have now inside knowledge, only the S Cowell greed factor to go on
i can imagine him saying "you know what there is to much talent to finish this so soon we need 1 more weekend" |

*now = no

Ah postulation. 1.5 a steal I'd say...hang on though isn't there a take that single. I'll hang on to my cash for now.

Article in the Daily Mail yesterday insinuated that the final would be the weekend before Christmas this year (i.e. 18th / 19th December), which would mean NOT going for the Christmas Number One. By my reckoning the Christmas Number One is announced the same day on Sunday 19th, with Christmas Day the following Saturday.
If this is correct, then it could make sense that we're two double eliminations short to keep the final to three acts (for a 11/ 12th December final weekend). All very confusing. Does anyone have the inside track on this? |
|
By:
Are you sure Dizzy? I've just had a look through Daily Mail XF 15/11 articles, couldn't find anything.

It was this comment:
Producers need to stage a double elimination soon if they are to end up with three contestants in the finale show before Christmas - her axeing would conveniently take away such a need. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1329772/X-FACTOR-2010-Katie-Waissels-US-song-release-breach-shows-rules.html#ixzz15UTTqhHT By my reckoning we still need two double eliminations to even out the numbers - therefore suggesting that the finals are the weekend before Christmas, rather than two weeks. Perhaps I'm reading way too much into this! |

This article seems to completely contradict that theory, however, so maybe I'm just talking utter b*ll*cks!!!

Thanks Dizzy. I think the "Producers need to stage a double elimination soon" is correct, but doesn't negate a 12/12 finish.
Also the "her axeing would conveniently take away such a need" shows that the journo is ignorant or inventive if he thinks her axeing is likely. |

True - it was another non-story of course, so take it with a pinch of salt.
