The simple way to ensure the "right" person gets booted off of the X Factor is to simply change the way the voting  is conducted. Rather than people vote for their favourites to stay in the competition, why don't they change the rules so that people vote for the person they want out?????? The result would mean that Messrs Cowell, Walsh, Cole and Minogue don't have to "save" their own act, or make pressure decisions they all say they hate making!! Lets be fair, if this was the case, Wagner would rightly be gone a long time ago (just like Jedward last year).. We all know the reason why it's the way it is... cos it keeps everyone talking about the controversy, it sells papers, and presumably it makes the show (Simon Cowell) more money in telephone calls!

Tonight's vote was nothing short of farcical- agreed Aiden wasn't win material, but both he, and Treyc are a million times better than the talentless Wagner.. Laugh

Can't see that working.  It would be like Big Brother where some of the more interesting contestants get booted off early and the boring ones stay.  We would probably have lost Waggy and kept Treyc if it was like that.  A fairer way would be to just eliminate the one with the lowest public vote and stop the judges deciding who stays.

agreed Mikeeeey.  Cher, Wagner, Rebecca, One Direction all have 100s more "haters innit" than John, TreyC, Paije and Storm whod make the final 4.  I know which group keeps the millions watching.

exactly how it is now works for maximum weekend fun.

voting for your favourite in a pop competition makes sense, surely.

Sorry, but award for the 'worst possible suggestion' on this one, as per points above. Negative voting even killed off BB in the end.

Yes - and who decides the rules - Cowell of course! Why on earth would he change it when he's happy with the way it is?

Makes it pretty easy to find value when there's so many deluded people out there who believe shows like X Factor should be run 'fairly'

I thought it was run fairly Shocked

@Mikeeey... That is my point exactly...we would have lost Wagner and Treyc would still be in, and quite rightly so!!! Wagner as we all know is total crap and has zero chance of winning- Treyc can at least sing in tune--- It degrades the competition when someone with say a 15%  chance of winning the competition is booted out before someone with ZERO chance!  When Jedward were in the early rounds last year, Simon Cowell was slagging them off left, right and centre, yet the first chance he got to put his mouth in to action, he chose to save them... why? Cos he could see a few quid slipping from his fingers!!!

So Ann W has zero chance of winning SCD?
Report waggertheslagger November 19, 2010 12:01 AM GMT
Ann W has about an 5-8% chance of winning SCD (not that I watch it cos it bores me). The bottom line is there has never ever in the history of X factor etc been anyone as bad as Wagner that has won. Why is there so much uproar when the likes of TreyC / Aiden / Ngamu get booted out/not selected, yet never uproar when the "right" person gets kicked off?? (such as Jedward)
