I protest to the Wagner protest vote!
We're not all protest unts on here you know! |

A protest is a no vote but there will still be many voting Wagner as a form of protest. His FB likes has DOUBLED in the last week alone and he has 13k more likes on Facebook than Rebecca!
A more sufficient protest to X-Factor would be to download The Trashmen single "Surfin Bird" on the 13th December - This group now has over half a million supporters! http://www.facebook.com/pages/BIRD-is-the-WORD-for-UK-Christmas-number-1-2010-to-beat-X-Factor/134615893253740 |

I agree with Tut - a protest vote is a no vote. But that won't happen - there'll still be mugs lining up to hand over their money to Cowell.

Exactly Mikeeey, if I was in Cowell's shoes after the xmas fiasco last year, I would do exactly what he has done to provoke the protest attitude in people. He knows that people want to be involved in his product, he knows people want to pick up the phone and tell all their friends who they voted for at the weekend. It has evolved to become a social tool.

A good protest would be for the masses to buy Steve Brookstein's new single which is out in a few weeks as Cowell really doesn't like him. I've just been reading his blog which is quite amusing:

Brookie's written a blog on saturday's fiasco which is definately worth a read. He ends it by saying:
Simon gives us what we want, Louis gets the job done and Cheryl gets the blame. ![]() |

Everyone has more 'likes' than Rebecca though so what's new?

I dont agree with the logic that the best protest vote is a no vote. Because many people will still vote.
A protest vote for Wagner is by far the best protest vote if you are unhappy witnwhat happened last week. Because a protest vote strong enough for Wagner to win the overall competition would bring the future of the whole show into doubt as it would be seen a a farce. |

Wherteas Katie being better than TreyC isn't a farce?

Paddle - it depends on what you're protesting about. Those that spent their money voting for Treyc may feel the decision to boot her off over Katie was an unfair one and may not feel like giving over any more of their hard earned to Cowell & Co. That would be their way of protesting - though I doubt the majority of voters have the sense to do this tbh.
I take the point that many will still vote and I understand the logic of voting for Wagner. But you are still voting for an XF contestant and handing over money to Cowell. I really don't think that in the unlikely event of Wagner winning, the show will lose any credibility - as his has none, or that Cowell will lose any sleep over it. |
