How would you price that up for elimination?

I find that a real conundrum as I'm not certain they would save Katie.

Katie stays I reckon.

I'm not sure they'd want Wagner on the tour. He's not rally much of a draw and he could be hard to handle if the press stories are correct.

An early slot this week?
Report GymTanLaundry November 10, 2010 12:27 PM GMT
louis: i have to bck my act, i'm sending home katie

danni: if this is a singing competition then i have to send home wagner

cheryl: of course i'm going to save my act, so i'm sending home wagner

simon: this is a really tough one for me.  on the one hand, wagner, it's just ridiculous but on the other hand, katie this is your 4th time in the sing-off and something just isn't working.

dermot: simon i have to push you for a decision.

simon: okay, this is really hard and i'm not sure what's best here, so i'm going to let the public decide, it's the fairest way.  so the act i'm sending home is katie.

dermot: right we're going to deadlock.  the act with the fewest votes and going home tonight is..... KATIE!

there hasn't been any further talk (since Jeff Brazier on TM on Monday) about the possibility of it being a double??
Report stu November 10, 2010 12:30 PM GMT
something just isn't working.

I like the thinking there, can just see that coming out of his mouth, yes...

Only thing is, if he goes to such massive expense to keep her in would he then turn around and get rid?
Report GymTanLaundry November 10, 2010 12:32 PM GMT
losing any of them against wagner this week would be pretty controversial.

sunday ratings will be massive after last week and with take that, jls and westlife on the show.

would be a great result for cowell!!
Report Asparagus Man November 10, 2010 12:43 PM GMT
Very interesting this one - I think GTL has it pretty much spot-on with his 1.01 nap.

In fact they would love to engineer a Katie / Waggy B2 I reckon.

Can they really save Katie for the fourth time - and third in three weeks? Dannii really doesn't like or get Waggy so I think she sends him home defo and it's all down to Simon.

As to the OP I think the odds in this scenario have to have Katie shorter due to her multiple excursions into the B2 and thus perceived likelihood to actually be bottom. So I will say 1.7 Katie?
Report GymTanLaundry November 10, 2010 12:45 PM GMT
1.7 sounds about what it should be i'd say.

i reckon wagner would be favourite in actual fact though.
Report GeorgeBrush November 10, 2010 12:49 PM GMT
Perfect time and situation in which to ditch Katie

Biffa and **** emerge without damage, Simon guarantees the press for the week

I'm with Papa

They can always kick Waggy off the tour anyway, it's another red herring
Report stu November 10, 2010 1:05 PM GMT
Interesting that the view seems to be edging towards Katie favourite to go if this happens - wonder if the market would reflect that!
Report five leaves left November 10, 2010 1:09 PM GMT
I hope so.

Waggy goes for me. Cowell is trying to kill him with kindness.
Report five leaves left November 10, 2010 1:11 PM GMT
Katie is much more box office for the tour.
They could even sell baskets of rotton veg to throw at her.
Report stu November 10, 2010 1:13 PM GMT
Must admit this is a real 50/50 for me - I can see both what you're saying and the other's points for this one. Evens the two then.

Outside shot here chaps...
Wagner ramp and early slot/poor song for Paije to put him in the mix with Katie.
Katie v Paije Bottom 2.
Louis - sends home Paije.
Danni - saves her act, sends home Katie.
Cheryl - saves her act, sends home Paije.
Simon - clear the decks for Rebecca ethnic support transfer, sends home Paije (((Shock Horror)))
Could there potentially be a race card issue thrown in here after TreyC last week???
Paije is invisible in the papers and wouldn't be any great loss to the tour. I think Wagner or Katie would be. Both more colourful individuals and certainly more likely to sell tour seats!
Report jack12321 November 10, 2010 1:30 PM GMT
They just can't keep Katie another week, it would completely take the p!ss out of the entire concept of the public vote.

It's a very difficult call, probably deadlock as GTL described is the most likely outcome.

Wonder what Wagner's sing-off song is?! Could be an interesting moment....
Report squares November 10, 2010 1:33 PM GMT
hasn't Louis always been a big fan of Paije tho?  Didn't he push for him at audition stage and for the other judges to allow Paije to come back and do another song?
Report Asparagus Man November 10, 2010 1:34 PM GMT
I'd agree Jack that Katie is not going to get saved by the majority judge's vote in this scenario - the best she can hope for is deadlock.
Report NXRBL November 10, 2010 1:39 PM GMT
Yes jack, hard for the credibility of the show to stand if she's there much longer.
But with 16m+ viewing figures last week Cowell is laughing and probably not too bothered!
True Sq, yes. I didn't think he'd save Katie over TreyC though. He seemed to jump on the Cowell wagon.
Just going through all the possibilities here.
My theory was a leftfield Cowell one of a race issue being whipped up (which would be ridiculous imo)
Result = it would garner incredible support for his chosen one.
Report GymTanLaundry November 10, 2010 1:39 PM GMT
lou just sent me a telegram asking me to let you all know his HONEST opinion on this matter.

katie will almost certainly be saved by the judges.  she has some serious tuning issues but wagner is a joke act and it's a wonder that he's got so far in this competition while singing totally out of tune nearly all the time.
Report NXRBL November 10, 2010 1:41 PM GMT
* a race issue being whipped up
NB - not one of MASSIVE proportion, but enough to insure 100% transfer of ALL ethnic vote to Rebecca. Or is that a gimme anyway?
Report A1 Bionic November 10, 2010 3:25 PM GMT
What makes you think black people vote for black people?
Report NXRBL November 10, 2010 3:45 PM GMT
A1 - just a wild, mad cap idea of mine!?!
Report NXRBL November 10, 2010 3:51 PM GMT
A1 - it was more a transfer of support, as runners drop out, than a straight forward assumption tbh mate
Report ada November 10, 2010 4:31 PM GMT
So Katie to go is around 2.08 so thats basically for wagner to be voted through as katie would be voted out agaisnt any other (bottom 2 so many times and the cheating thing) or risky if bottom 2 with wagner

so 11/10 good price?
Report jack12321 November 10, 2010 4:33 PM GMT
She might not be bottom two remember Grin
Report Asparagus Man November 10, 2010 4:44 PM GMT
Reckon they'll want to keep her Jack to justify last week?
Report LOU MACARIS TARTAN B November 10, 2010 4:47 PM GMT
Fwiw

I think in a Katie v Wagner scenario, Wagner goes but if it's 'deadlock' Wagner more votes so Katie out.
Report jack12321 November 10, 2010 4:53 PM GMT
No idea AM, but the stats go against her.

Only 2 other acts have survived this many sing offs - Chico and Hope - and they both got dumped out in last place in the public vote following their 3rd appearance in the b2.

Wont be easy to get her into the safety zone - but you never know Grin
Report mach November 10, 2010 4:56 PM GMT
if waggy is bottom 2 SC will know waggy is going no where in the comp, and if SC saves waggy, waggy loses his chance to be a anti SC contestant
SC LW vote to save waggy
cherl and danni katie
deadlock= katie goes
Waggy wont be bottom 2 though, paije much more chance imo
SC and louie will be the neutral judges, i dont feel they will feel they can get away with saving katie this time or sending it to deadlock, so katie still goes.
