The decision to keep Katie at all costs had obviously been already made.
Not one judge based their decion on the sing off. Previously they have when it suited them and Katie sang well in the sing off.
I would be amazed if Katie did not have the lowest public vote as it appeared everything was done to avoid deadlock.
How can the judges say with a straight face that Katie has more potential as a recording artist. It has been shown she is just too disliked to be able to sell records.
As for tonights judges votes it was simply ****.
Why did Cheryl not vote last and be given the chance the bring it to deadlock? The answer is in the question.
Louis could also have refused to not vote and bring it to deadlock but again it seemed it was already decided that Katie would be saved and it could not go to deadlock as she would have lost.
The show lost all credibility tonight.

When she sat on the floor at the end after fluffing her words earlier it looked absolutely desperate. She had without doubt the worst sing off performance in the whole series.

We know its not a singing competition but the general Joe Public still do and they are paying to vote for the best singer. This is phone fraud.

On future shows will we ever again hear the judges dare claim "as I always do, I'm going to judge it on who was the best singer tonight and that was....."

it is more on performance art and unique styling, if they can humm then its a bonus. However Katie has all 3 so she may win

In a way i disagree with you Guybrush. I do think personality and likeability are important factors for many singing artists. But Katie has shown she is uniquely disliked by the public.

Cowell has always said its about finding a recording artist but can he not take the hint that no one is going to buy this girls records because she is too disliked.

I dont think they lost any credibilty last year with jedward. They have been shown to have likeability and have made a good career for themselves.

How can they keep her in? Shocking from the judges! Cheryl was clearly shocked to be asked 2nd and after refusing to vote, clearly said to ask the other judges and then (come back to her and..) she'd take it to deadlock! Couldn't believe they didn't go back to her and to deadlock. Yup, backed Katie to go, so feel cheated. I know reality TV is always bllox and you bet at own risk, but thought this was particularly bad. |

I've just seen some muppet on ITV2 saying Katie was better because she generates more press attention. Says it all really.

I think this should be taken to offcom. Cowell will love the bad publicity from tonights show because any publicity is good publicity. But the reason i say it should be taken to offcom is that the show has used peoples voting money to create negative publicity tonight, which in the world we live is good publicity.

There should be some understanding that when spend money to vote that there vote counts for something but tonights showed it counts for nothing.

Yes a popularity contest but you still have to be able to sing. Joe, Alexandra, Leona all half decent. Rhyddian was the better singer but he sure wasn't a "pop" star. BGT is the place for the good voices but zero looks; remember XF is son of Pop Idol.

To put Cheryl on the spot, creating "good" TV. They also hoped that Katie, who got the lowest vote, would put in a decent sing off so that ditching Treyc would be credible. (FAIL). |

Not glam.enough maybe ,or not pushy enough.Success in the pop world has nothing to do with musical ialent or ability.Right place, right time,rightlooks,right contacts etc.,etc.,etc.I mean look at the minimally talented tossers who are lauded as geniuses in our strange world. :- Elton, McCartney,Jackson etc.,etc.Right place,right time,right image etc.
