nope.Danni almost saw him off last night. He 100% ruine a wonderful song.
Report jack12321 October 31, 2010 11:31 AM GMT
Can win yes, but needs to change tack imo. These intense performances aren't getting him anywhere
Report GeorgeBrush October 31, 2010 11:32 AM GMT
I reckon the fashionable answer will be no [;)]
Report five leaves left October 31, 2010 11:37 AM GMT
no, but he's won the hearts of the girlies which could lead to some value in 1D for elim in a few weeks time.
Report George Bailey October 31, 2010 11:38 AM GMT
Can't win but here for the long haul
Report Guybrush Threepwood October 31, 2010 11:41 AM GMT
Don't think he will be eliminated this week. The judges will try and help him next week by giving him the last act slot with a happier cherrier song. Then Cowell can say 'you're back in the game'. Just like how they did it for Katie and Cher. They help those struggling but want them in the later stages.
Report George Bailey October 31, 2010 11:47 AM GMT
Cowells comments about "hoping he is stil here next week" were astonishing. Who knows what mind games cowell is playing with us or his agenda for Matt.

You must be deaf mate if you think he's the best singer.

Nice caps on the topic by the way. Try being normal and writing normal.
Report Platini October 31, 2010 12:31 PM GMT
he would be the worst winner ever, so a big NO CHANCE, IMO.

Think he's a good chance of bottom 2 tonight after another car-crash performance, but the judges will probably save him assuming he's in a sing-off v one of the deadwood.
A very good trade opportunity, at the very least.
Report laughing gravy October 31, 2010 12:58 PM GMT
Yes.
He has that slightly 'too cool for school' thing going on. He has attitude and that teenage, misunderstood intensity which could play well if he can show another side. He needs to survive this week and then be given something to 'lighten-up'. That will be the start of his journey and if it happens he will be right in the mix.
Potentially one of the value trades at 30+ and certainly offers better value than some others.
Report ghatroonh October 31, 2010 1:46 PM GMT
He's currently riding on one decent performance.

There are also more obvious places for the girlie vote to go IMO and I reckon he was a bit too cocky after his performance last night - I think he's been getting votes for being the shy, nervous guy and last night could damage this.

I don't think he'll be bottom 2 tonight, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was. I think they could send him home against Paije, Katie and Treyc.
Report wedge1 October 31, 2010 2:05 PM GMT
only if the whole gay community want him too
Report GeorgeBrush October 31, 2010 2:36 PM GMT
He's hardly riding on it ghat. He's near on 40/1 Laugh
Report Mikeeey October 31, 2010 2:36 PM GMT
I'm waiting for Cowell to hail him as a genius before I back him

I do not watch the show and I have been catching up on youtube. Did not bother to watch Grimmer due to comments on here.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuukkkkkin AAAAAAAAAAmaaazin.

The singing the set the dancers. Based on the this for me the best singer in this by a mile. I would pay money to watch sets like that. Miles better than Cher which was simplistc and obviuos and quite brillaint. But Grimmer is a proper artist. Can he progress on here? If it means he has to change his style
I hope he is booted off. Must make final 8 though.

Love love love loved it. Brian Ferry meets Neil young meets Nick Cave meets a unique and authentic 18 year old artist. More. More. MORE. Encore.

Can he win it? Irrelevant.
Report GeorgeBrush October 31, 2010 3:48 PM GMT
At last melv. This is the kind of thing I expect from you

I fvcking love him too. I no longer feel ashamed to admit. The more they hate him on here the more I like him

Record a covers album of miserablist anthems from the 80's I might even download it. As long as Ghosts was on there
Report GeorgeBrush October 31, 2010 3:58 PM GMT
For me though the dancers were distraction.

Just get him up there by himself singing a suicide note every week

Fvck Cowell

Yes agree melv, I thought it was a very interesting performance but will not appeal to the uneducated masses.
Report Angela Rebecchi October 31, 2010 4:01 PM GMT
This a wind up. He was horrific.
Report GeorgeBrush October 31, 2010 4:05 PM GMT
You should know better than to question a Melvian eulogy Ange
Report Cider October 31, 2010 4:21 PM GMT
He's got so much teen angst and anger pent up inside, he decides to sell out to the x factor! He should be writing songs and singing about how sh1t it is.
Report Mikeeey October 31, 2010 4:22 PM GMT
but will not appeal to the uneducated masses Laugh
Report George Bailey October 31, 2010 4:25 PM GMT
"Teen angst and anger" do you mean like James Dean? [;)]
Report Angela Rebecchi October 31, 2010 4:27 PM GMT
Bootcamp etc showed he was a limited singer. The style wears thin. Nailed Week 1 and everything else has been poor. An also ran.
Report George Bailey October 31, 2010 4:33 PM GMT
He can't sing so he can't win.
Report GeorgeBrush October 31, 2010 4:58 PM GMT
He's young Cider.

What the fvck is koonty Matt's excuse?
Report Platini October 31, 2010 7:49 PM GMT
That Thriller was the worst thing I've ever seen on this show. Embarassingly bad it was, following up a shocker from last week as well (desperately trying to sing Diamonds are Forever in the style of Michael Buble). He's still living off one reasonable peformance. I say only reasonable because it was a copy of a copy of a cover. About as original as car theft in Liverpool.
