Somebody else said that as well. Why don't you use the opportunity to get an all green book? He might fall under a bus.

this reminds me of the fools that were backing Kat in Big Brother at a ridiculously short price thinking she was unbeatable

only time will tell and i promise to come back and apologise on finals night should it not happen........i know i won't have to do it though........these bets come along very rarely in life and you've go to grab it and have the big kahunas to carry it through to the end...Grin

I backed at 9/2 and he's now under 2/1 but I haven't traded anything yet.  If he got really short thought I might well be tempted.  Look at what happened with Rhydian and I don't think Matt's near his class so watch it mate.

know what you mean lou but this is the first year i've had a bet on the x-factor and while i've enjoyed reading the threads i can't believe how much rubbish has been spoken by some people on the subject.....they're either mugs or on a giant wind up....the more i read the stronger i feel about matt winning, and today i've decided to go all the way. Oh I agree totally.  They can't simply admit that having laid Matt they are worried as he's clear favourite and very much the one to beat.  They pick on his hat, sings like a girl, just left his girlfriend, chatting up the dancers on the show, losing his hair a little etc.  They conveniently forget to mention he's the best singer in a singing competition!!  They've got to come up with something to bring him down through sheer desperation.  I don't even answer a few of them on here as I've given up with them.

Anyway more fool them.  If they honestly think ONE D are the better act of the two and Wagner will get more votes then that's fine by me.  Matt may well not win it and to be fair the odds say he'll win it once in three attempts but I'll tell you this he aint arf' got a fair chance!

Cue the cavalry!

He's a competent singer - no doubt about that.  I personally thought John was the best singer in the comp and if it really was a singing competition, he may have won.

OK here's some sense - he could win, will probably be in finals, so you want to be green on him. However you suggest you're pinning everything on him? Quickest way to the poor house.

likeliest winner, but beatable by one direction or rebecca. you would want him onside at the very least. i think he and rebecca are by some way the best singers, but that is not necessarily the issue

I don't understand where all these matt haters are that Buster and Lou talk about as I havent seen any.

I have seen plenty of people trying to balance the viewpoint by pointing out he is good but not brilliant but if that amounts to hate then I hate them all! [;)]

People need to read more threads to see there are plenty of anti Matt posts on here.  All thst is fine of course as it's an open forum with all allowed their opinion but to deliberately pick up the silly things I've mentioned below is just sheer desperation.  "Yes Matt, you're the best singer on here, clear favourite and we have to admit the one to beat but we don't like you chatting up the girls backstage and your hair's going a bit on top"!!

Lou I remember you used to defend Danyl in the same way from all his "haters" Blush

You've got to admit Matt (excellent singer though he is blah blah) is a bit of a cold fish?

I did defend Danyl because I like to see fair play and I personally though he was very good.

I don't think Matt is a cold fish.  If he were flashier people wouldn't like that so he comes on, sings a very good song, seems humble, nice normal fella, smiles to the judges, thanks everyone and walks off.  What more can he do?

for my two pennys worth - he does not have the best voice i.m.o thats rebecca, but she does need to develop a more confident personallity but perhaps that is part of the journey.
Matt to me is boring, but having said that, is by far the most popular in respect of my mrs and all her mates(which worries me t.b.h).
He is one to have onside ,but i would not be a backer at this price but having said that would not lay either.
i think the value now is mary, or one direction, and rebecca in a dutch bet.

It's true what you say about Matt being popular.  I've aked about twenty people I suppose (I know hardly a demographic and massive sample!) but I would honestly say over half would choose Matt as the winner.  Now that's a ridiculously low sample I know but over half?  On digital spy they ask "who's your favourite act" of over 500 votes he's got 30% which is double his nearest rival.  Again hardly a massive amount of voters but he's a mile clear again.   Wouldn't suprise me if he's clearly winning the votes cast every week.

It's no surprise that Matt is popular right now.  I Would guess he topped the vote the last two weeks.  If the final was next saturday, he would surely win.  That can all change yet.

If it is The Star as touched upon how do we know what they're telling us is true?  Wayne Rooney was joining Real Madrid last week for instance.
