There's something about her I like. I think if she just stood there for once and showed us she can sing a nice sweet song she'd be in with a real chance. Just don't think the whole attitude, image, rap thing does her any favours. Seems unpopular in the house too. Not the winner for me sorry. |
By:
she has not got the talent to win the rap part costs the the grandparent vote young girls dont get her she is of limited appeal to young lads and most parents are out on saturday nights so only vote on the drivel served on sunday just cant see her staying around for long
By:
most parents are out on saturday nights
What makes you think that? I'd guess only a minority of over 25s are out on any given Saturday. |

Shes a one trick pony--massive production around same format each week. Female m and m--i dont think so. Shes a horrible little urchin mini me c.tweedy( isnt tweedy a horrible name?). Get her out!

I agree. Surely there's better in the competition. The winner? Not for me. |

Thinks she some sort of gangster rapper from the ghetto when she's really a litte brat from a quiet market town in middle England!
By:
Actually if TPTB want to push gangster rap culture on us it's probably better to have a litte brat from a quiet market town in middle England than the real thing.
Last week Cheryl said: "She's going to be one of those acts where you suddenly go, 'Wow!'. When we do a ballad you'll see how much of a great singer she is. She can really, really sing. She just has it. We'll strip off her make-up and just make her a pretty girl with a fresh face and no snarling." But when she finally did her ballad it was with the same attitude and over-the-top production. Shame, because she might have a decent voice if only they let us hear it properly, preferably transplanted into somebody with a different personality. She could probably benefit from a bit of Rebecca's personality and Rebecca could benefit from a bit of hers. |

I think that's very true. I was saying a couple of weeks ago if she just came out dresssed 'normally' and sang a nice popular song without the attitude and rapping I thi nk she'd be right in with a shout but at the moment her whole image I'm sure isn't the ideal for this show. |

That happens lou see how they recreate, themselves is the winning formula. KATIE did that with the Lou Prima number just a build up till cher mixes it around a bit.Rebbeca seems to be taking the Billy holiday Route (But seems a bit Aunt Sally WITH HER ANNOYINY noddindg in agreement to everything manarism, and standing there slot She needs to sex up a bit like katie,CHER however will bring a bit of a modern alternative if they let it happen.Simons reaction with it on Saturday for me Quote, of five hit records did it for me.As for matt hes in a whole differnt class but will the public get bored with him personally the song he sang was exellent but boring.same with mary BORING CHERS got a long way to go yet,

She needs to broaden her appeal, but at the moment she has a strong fanbase and is much talked about (good and bad) which is important in escaping the early evictions.
To win it she needs to shed the one-trick pony stuff and just stand there and belt out a few numbers to appeal to the older crowd. The pivotal point for her will be around weeks 6 and 7 where she will need to up her game, which she may not be capable of. If she can though the layers and doubters will be in big trouble imo - she will have a journey through the show, have overcome general dislike and she is only 17 ffs so voters will cut her some slack for that. |

Yes I agree that's about right. Don't think she will actually win it but she could be in with a shout of certainly making the last three. |

Horrid little chav bullie who raps - Can't sing and will never win!!!

I've just topped up

Cher's doing a ballad this week - no rapping. So suggests her video diary
Last chance at 13.5 imo ![]() |
By:
Yeah I've topped up as well jack. Like I said on another thread the journey starts when she scrubs up and does the ballad and shows she can sing.
I'm betting she has a voice and will nail it this week. Judges go on about "a butterfly" emerging/transformation etc then watch price crash. Of course it could be car crash tv but Im betting it won't be. |
By:
Didn't she do a ballad on Saturday? It did contain one line of rap, but that was much reduced rap than normal.
A problem with change is that it may lose some of the young fans she has now who like her just as she is. Could be make or break. I'd say out of the remaining she is the most unknown quantity. |
By:
I think you're madder than mad jack mcmad, winner of this years Mr Madman competition
But best of luck jack |
By:
In terms of going on the journey she has chance to literally reinvent herself. She may lose some tweeny fans but she can't win without the mature vote so its a no brainer.
Eliza Doolittle anyone? |
By:
Eliza Doolittle anyone?
That'll be the day. Are you going to be her Henry Higgins George?(I take it you're not talking about Eliza Sophie Caird). |
By:
At least half my tongue in my cheek Henry. My half decent general knowledge has failed me so I will need to google ESC!
I think if it was confirmed she was doing a straight ballad she and wagner would top any poll of "most anticipated" performance. All she needs do is deliver. |
By:
Cher intrigues me. She's the only one apart from Rebecca that I've wanted to see and hear again through my hi-fi.
I think even if she loses the rap, which has to be a vote loser amongst the demographic (even though many youngsters like it), she really should lose the chav responses to the judges praise. A steep hill to climb methinks. |
By:
Yup. Bit like a new entrance to BB house. Not impossible to win but doing it the hard way. Risk is if she goes too mainstream she loses too much credibility with her core vote.
Her fault really for painting herself into the rap corner. Or rather Biffa's lack of mentoring skills. It may be Cher is rubbish and its all the emperor's new clothse but I thought there was a video somewhere showing she could actually sing. |
By:
Does this not strike you as straw clutching George?
By:
In a way. She's not my biggest green so I'm easy really. She's "only" 13.5 for a reason surely?
By:
Yep, there's a lot of dimwits around [;)]
By:
I'm probably one of the few people that thinks she is utter shyte. I don't get the credibility bollox - presumably this is because she raps (wow)- it looked to me like she was miming some parts last saturday. A fraud imo.
By:
I hardly think you're in a minority Mike
Like Danny boy last year, she can never win. And I very much doubt she can get as far as he did |
By:
Must admit I would get a kick out of it if she becomes a contender. But I thought that for a while with lady sov till I realised that what you saw was what you got.
By:
I was laying her furiously as well
By:
Would they risk letting contestants mime? I don't think so, catastrophic for credibility if it ever got out.
By:
obviously someone likes her George...but I'm scratching my head in wonder what the credibility stuff is all about
By:
Credibility translates into short price maybe. She reminds me of someone playing at being a gangsta rapper for a day on Jim'll fix it or Blue Peter

By:
Definitely not miming and I retract credibility comment thinking about it. She's more like the Harry Enfield teenage character. All the acts on here are wannabee media w hores by definition as they have all failed to have made it by being spotted for their talent. If you really have cred you don't need to look for a recording contract..."they" look for you.
Still she could surprise us. Who else can? |

Matt could play a tambourine
