Spot on GB - he was the standout bet at 10s before the live shows and there's no reason to abandon him yet...
He does need to lighten up a little though. The archetypal stroppy teenager! |
By:
I thought last night was quite endearing dizzy. He cares, unlike cardie boy for whom it's a means to and end he should have achieved in the traditional manner.
Plenty of mums getting turned on by that i'll betcha |
By:
Plus it just gives him the age old XF story of 'bouncing back' next week
![]() |
By:
week 2 - dampen expectation
- if Aiden is a bit off pitch, say he is rubbish to ensure the floods still flood in week 3 - bounceback - if Aiden is a bit off pitch, say it doesn't matter and he's the most important pop star in britain today |
By:
Yep, I thought that last night - they're definitely keen for him not to peak too soon, so like Joe they're totally playing down his talent at this stage.
By:
I'm green on Grimshaw and large red on Curdle but I thought last night's performance was very shaky and he admitted that himself...he may get some sympathy on the back of it, but he'll need to get back to performing like he did Mad World, and I wouldn't be too confident he has got it in him. Curdle turned in a flawless performance last night, but I'm not temped to back him at the price after only week 2
By:
By the way, i'm thinking this 'scary' autistic thing he has going on is turning into a vote winner, rather than the opposite
3rd behind Mary and Comaboy this week, I'll wager |
By:
Nice to swim against the flow on this one

the problem with Grim (imo) isn't so much about his singing ability but more about his confidence...he showed signs of cracking last night...Olly Murs was a very average singer but as cocky as fk which helped him.
Grim's voice has a bit of edge to it (unlike Curdle) and he might do well if he tried belting out a rock song in the vein of Killers. The public might tire of Curdle if he kees singing like a girl every week. |

I give to you...
Leon and G Gates 1st and 2nd |
By:
You'd think showing a bit of genuine emotion on these shows was a bad thing [;)]
By:
Sympathy vote will take him only so far GB. At the end of the day singing is still important and I can see car crash tv for power ballad, swing etc weeks.
By:
singing ain't as important as it used to be
By:
He doesn't need a sympathy vote on good weeks ttt [;)]
By:
Should be titled "the performance of the MOST SUCCESSFUL....in each series etc". There were a lot of other contestants that fit the above description who did much worse.
By:
he's extremely odd though isnt he
also, i can see him and matt taking each other's votes - both in boys category, and seeing as one direction and mary are definitely in the last three, there is only one spot left |

Many of them outperformed too Alkey
Gates 2nd Nixon 3rd Olly 2nd Lloyd 5th astonishing given how carp he was Not that many abject failures - Rikki, Drage, Bruton |
By:
Those three and Olly a bit older though?

rikki=storm?

By:
I'm with GB - his looks and age will take him far with the teeny girls and older mums vote for sure... But I have a nagging doubt that he could be a bit quirky for mass appeal in the later stages.
Not to say that we can't make some money trading on his price for the first few weeks though [;)] |
By:
If people are saying only one of him or Matt will reach the final, I'll stick my neck out and say Cowell will start de-ramping Matt subtly in a few weeks
Don't think he wants him at all |
By:
aiden was not good, still dont understand how he was favourite after singing/talking mad world in week one. clearly poor last night and a likely one trick pony.
By:
one trick pony
Should set the QI hooter off ![]() Michael Jackson and Elvis were one trick ponies ![]() |
By:
lIKELY one trick pony,he aint good[;)]

By:
Most thought he was good last week tbh alfie
By:
they gave him a song last week which was virtually spoken
By:
His voice may not be the 'strongest' in professional singing terms, but it has a very pleasant quality to these ears and is a bit different to the usual male vocal
He certainly isn't Lloyd Anyway, I'm starting to sound like Lou now ![]() |
By:
and cher is a bir different to the usual female voice. big reservations for me on this fella

Morning Campers
Wasn't good lalst night at all. Absolutely terrible on the high notes. Very disappointing. |
By:
I'm sure you'll get over it Lou
By:
![]() what about Matt? Surely he's more Guy Garvey standard. Diva Fever on now. Some of these acts are not quite so entertaining in the stone cold sober light of day. |
By:
he's on ITV again now

Shameless publicity hogger

I'd forgotten how bad he was - truly shocking tbh
