Goes on what they're going to sing of course and how they perform on the night but at a pure guess I would say Wagner and Katie in trouble.  I don't bet on the eviction markets but they would be my choices.
Report GymTanLaundry October 11, 2010 2:24 PM BST
would like to see the running order before placing a bet of course!

if wagner's on early, he could be in trouble.  likewise belle amie.

didn't see katie's sing off performance but a few people have said she was decent so that might have picked her up a few fans.  however i would guess that she came 2nd bottom in the vote this week.  the only reason i think this is that they clearly wanted her to stay ahead of FYD and they didn't let it go to deadlock - which suggests to me that she came 2nd bottom.

which in turn would suggest that the 5/1 is a big price.
Report GeorgeBrush October 11, 2010 2:26 PM BST
But is it Madonna?

Guess who that suits. Pimp slot too maybe
Report GymTanLaundry October 11, 2010 2:29 PM BST
GB - that's the other i'd want to know, what's the theme?

are there rumours of it being madonna week?

there's talk of DS that there's going to be a cher week, with cher herself singing gypsies, tramps and thieves.
Report cjhornet October 11, 2010 2:30 PM BST
is it another double eviction is the most important question

Surely has to be another double eviction for the next 2 or probably 3 weeks.
Report cjhornet October 11, 2010 3:32 PM BST
you would think so, but I would like it confirmed
Report Helmuthian Folds October 11, 2010 3:58 PM BST
CJ, have a feeling it may not be officially confirmed until Saturday evening.

Remember all they care about is the voters and not the gamblers and the voters have no need to know until the phone lines open.
Report stringerbell October 11, 2010 4:01 PM BST
it will definitely be a double eviction and for my money paige is in a spot of bother
Report GymTanLaundry October 11, 2010 4:20 PM BST
yep, paije could be one of the ones in bother, especially if he gets an early slot (good chance i'd say given that the other two bots are matt who went early this week and aiden who had the big performance).

i'd want to hear some strong rumours about the theme though.
Report cjhornet October 11, 2010 5:20 PM BST
HF I think you are probably right, we won't know till Saturday. Sad
Report The real Moaner October 11, 2010 8:50 PM BST
I don't know why they are introducing all the secrecy. It's daft and turning a good show into a farce.

As for the elimination, I was amazed Katie wasn't the least popular this week but am sure she will be this week. The show can do all it tries, but even this is beyond Cowell.

It also seems as if people are severely underestimating Wagner. Of course he won't win, but he is likable and isn't dreadful like Diva Fever.

Real Moaner

I like Diva Fever entertainment wise of the two so it just proves how opinions differ.  Don't think Wagner will be around too long but possibly a buy at 200 with a view to laying?
Report noveltybettingaddict October 12, 2010 1:40 AM BST
If it's madonna, there's no way Katie will be eliminated. Absolutely no chance. The madonna week has come so early to save her skin! In fact can anyone explain to me why the judges want katie in? I know it's 'publicity' but it's not good publicity. Before you say it, I know any publicity is good publicity but a machine like X Factor doesn't need katie to keep viewing figures up for goodness sake! Nevertheless the consensus is that katie has to stay so she will sing last on saturday and be 'the star'. she won't get many votes, but she won't be in the bottom three. No chance.

As for Wagner - surely him doing madonna would be so hilarious he'd get a lot of comedy votes.

What on earth is this show coming to. Wagner is someone we were meant to be finding funny in the early auditions - he wasn't meant to be at judges house, let alone the live show! i dont get why a retired pe teacher/miguel angel jimenez is singing alongside people who genuninly have dreams to be a pop star. too many weirdos. Who thinks it's actually entertaining? i'd seriously rather have 12 acts who were all realistic pop stars in their own way (no harm in people like cher who are different) than the likes of wagner, diva fever, nicolo, storm etc who the public will get bored of once the novelty has worn off. It's just pathetic and feels like the competition won't start properly until about 8 are left.

Diva Fever will probably stand out doing madonna. im curious to know what John will do. They will have to give him one of madonna's most tuneful ones and there can be no doubt he'll be able to make it his own. That will hopefully, for his sake, allow him to shake the invisible man tag. doubt he'll get a spot near the end of the show tho. they don't care about him. will probably chuck him in near the beginning again. Such a shame to stitch someone up like that. i want him to survive purely because he has no gimmicks. not that im a fan of having a 'stand there and sing nicely' winner but id much rather he stays than weird crap.
Report ror October 12, 2010 2:12 AM BST
I reckon they'll give one of the guys "frozen", but not sure about the rest.

If they want someone out they'll give them "music" or "holiday".

Actually it does. I agree with you that it's more like a freak show than a singing contest but it's all about viewing figures.

Somebody on another thread says that who wins is the only thing Cowell worries about but the money is in the TV show. If they got 12 million viewers last time then what Cowell worries about is it slipping to 11 mill, and how to get 13 mill next time.

Pretty ambiguous admittedly and not much more info apart from chat of going for high notes.

It's most certainly a double eviction.
Report Benjy October 15, 2010 12:00 AM BST
Apparently on the preview/trailer for Saturday's show they confirm it's another double.

Bounce factor is the main reason to expect Katie to avoid B3, think it could be enough though with a few people saying she is being treated in fairly this week as well.

I took the comment about the king to mean she was singing Elvis though not The Beatles?
Report Benjy October 15, 2010 12:01 AM BST
Do we get running order before Saturday night?
Report jack12321 October 15, 2010 2:00 AM BST
Bounce factor from week 1 is distinctly non-existant though Benjy

2009: Rachel Adedeji - Bottom two first two weeks
2008: Girlband - Bottom two first two weeks
2007: Alisha - Bottom two first two weeks

Worth noting that after Rachel finish in the bottom two first 2 weeks and the public was majorly against her, she went on top top the vote in week 3 (and then back down to last place in week 4)

Could be a similar pattern with Katie if she's bottom 3 and saved by the judges again. Would expect her to get a massive vote in week 3, and then crash out in week 4. Could throw up a few good betting opportunities if this is the case.
Report jack12321 October 15, 2010 2:29 AM BST
FWIW I think the bounce factor largely consists of the fanbase being motivated to vote after the scare of seeing their contestent in the bottom two. If you're bottom two in the first week, it's because you don't have a fanbase, therefore will not get much of a bounce.

The other "bounce" is a sympathy vote, and as of yet Katie doesn't really have this either.

Hissy fits all round:

Diva Fever have reportedly had a falling out over who sings which lines in their upcoming X Factor performance on Saturday.

According to Metro, Craig Saggers and Joe Al-Smadi argued over the lead in yesterday's rehearsal for Musical Heroes week.

A source told the newspaper: "Diva Fever have been arguing throughout the day on which lines each of them gets to sing of this week's song. It's not ideal with just 48 hours to go."

Week 1 to 4
Double eliminations.

The act with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated straight away.
The following two acts with the lowest number of votes will then take place in a sing-off and face the judges votes.

Week 5 to 7

The two acts with the lowest amount of phone in votes will take place in a sing-off and face the judges votes.

Week 8 to 10

No judges votes.
The act with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated from the competition.

The Final

The act with the most votes will be declared the winner.

First time poster, but been following the X Factor threads for a few years now (a big fan of Figgy and George!).

Good posts from Jack and Squares - I'm not sure whether the bounce will apply to Katie this year or not.  At least she polarises opinion and is memorable.  Likewise Wagner, unfortunately.  But both could be vulnerable in a double elimination.

For the first out this week though I'd go for someone who is dull and anonymous - like Paije or John - or for the group jinx to continue for Belle Amie and Diva Feva.

Of course it'll all come down to the running order, but my guess is that they'll try to keep the front two in the elimination betting in as they're still good for column inches...
