can i just ask the regulars on here what your views are on bookies still quoting the final 32 when its pretty much confirmed who the final 12 are?
I only ask this because we quoted only the final 12 last year and came in for a lot of criticism for "spoiling" the judges houses section last year. Yet this year people on here say bookies should only be quoting the final 12 and are taking money on certain losers.
I'm surprised people criticised you last year for just quoting the 12. It seems you were doing the right thing if you were sure.
But how has it been confirmed to you this year?

its not confirmed this year Henry but the Radio Times today published the list that most people knew to be correct and thats the same list that the unofficial x-factor websites have been saying for the past few weeks, personally hoping they are correct because we have laid a load of Gamu!

If that's all we've got to go on I couldn't blame any bookie for quoting 32. I've always liked that list because it seems the most likely 12 that Cowell would want through imo, but it's never been confirmed. xfactor-updates.com published it from his "source", then a couple of other sites published it not mentioning their source, probably just copying it from xfactor-updates, and now the RT thing which could have just been someone having a laugh.
SO whilst I think they are the 12, XF now say there will be a "surprise". Possibly (but not probably):
Sinitta reportedly said in July that 4 of the 12 would be voted by public, that doesn't now look likely but they could maybe have a 13th voted by public from an extra 4, 1 each provided by the judges. I think even then Cowell would want TreyC rather than Gamu going forward for the vote from the girls group.

Think its a dangerous game to go solely off spoilers. X factor updates were the 1st site to publish the final 12 whos to say tellymix and the radio times got them from another source or have assumed them to be correct. You would look pretty daft and have some implications if they were incorrect, so I would stick with the 32. At the photoshoot on Tuesday my contact confirmed all bar John Adeleye and Belle Amie as being there so its 99.9% they are correct you just cant take the .1% chance theyre wrong, Coincidentaly they (x factor production) have requested additional photoshoots for Cher Lloyd against that as Mr X says there is a lot of feedback that she is shall we say difficult.

Whilst you are on I had a helluva job getting paid on Michelle being the 4th person evicted from Ultimate Big Brother on your results screen she was listed ad 3rd. Your customer services initially told me my bet was a loser as did the guy on L.B.O. support it was only my insistence which got me paid. Genuinely it was pretty poor all round, that said I think youve done very well over the past year.

Making money (from a bookies point of view) on Cricket is extremely difficuly imo.
Our Cricket compiler is extremely good Robster and if we won money on the back of his knowledge . . . . we would do very well indeed!
Trouble is, like most two runner Sports . . . with the best will in the world (and the best compilation) you can still lose!!!!

yeah you are right, its very difficult to win on unless you have strong judgement and really go away from the market (Im very against Australia in this test series against India, cue Aussies 160 odd for 2!). Turnover is really good, just wouldnt mind a bit more profit lol!

Seemed very keen to rubbish the spoilers didnt he, also a Gamu ramp[:o] seemed to be pushing the boys catergory as well. He thought everyone was great bar his own acts.

am "referred" each time i try to place a bet with your firm.only recently problably down to dave top man at 16s, no inside information just suggested by survation.find it strange as won more at other places and without consequences, also and very annoying is betting on other sports which are now getting referred too.

henry i find your views on gamu strange Well maybe she is through, I'd be surprised but I've never taken that list as sacred, as many do on the net.
i'd be very surprised if cowell allowed the spoilers to be correct They weren't official, nothing to do with Cowell's publicity machine, not in his interest - reduces suspense. From a fan site, not a newspaper, newspapers want to keep him sweet to keep getting his press releases.
However the leaked list has had a bit of indirect support from those DM photos, and a bit of twitter.

Mentally I don't think Cher is strong enough for this competition. They'll boot Scott James for the same reasons, but couldn't give a shoite when it's someone they want

ni i know the spoilers arent official, but simon has a very good understadning of the media, and i think it detracts from the show if the spoilers are right. so i think there will be some shocks, changes, surprises, watever you want to call it. and i cant believe that they have invested so much time and effort in one contestant - gamu - for her not be in the live shows.

There have always been contestants in XF, BGT, etc. who get a lot of air time during audition shows and create media interest, but who don't progress to the latter stages. TPTB seem to like the surprise/shock when an apparent front runner is shown not to make it.

does anybody know what is happening with this deportation case? Surely if she is in the show it would prejudice her case (this is me talking from my pocket!)

X FACTOR star Gamu Nhengu suffered racist bullying over an immigration row which almost ended her showbiz dream.
The 18-year-old - who fans saw sing on last night's boot camp show - fled to Scotland from her native Zimbabwe eight years ago with mum Nokutula, 38, and brothers Milton, 12, and Marty, 10.
The family were given temporary leave to remain but were threatened with deportation when their visa ran out earlier this year.
Tearful Gamu, who lives in Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire, was distraught when her passport was seized by immigration officials - threatening her future in the ITV show.
She says the situation is in the process of being resolved but revealed her immigration problems have led to online abuse.
She said: "I got a lot of hassle on internet forums and YouTube.
"People have called me an illegal immigrant and I have lost a lot of fans over this. It has been a stressful experience.
"The fact is we have temporary residency to remain in the UK but my mother has to renew the application every few years and it had come to the point where it needed to be renewed.
"Our visa was coming up for renewal. We hadn't been turned down.
"The immigration officials give updates and they said everything is going through and it should be done within three weeks."
Gamu's family are resident in Scotland under her mother's work permit visa, which also covers the children as her dependants.
But they were left shocked when their original application for an extension was rejected due to a paper work hitch.
Bureaucrats from the Home Office still have the family's re-application under consideration.
An X Factor spokesman said last night: "There's been no change yet, the case is still going through."
Tonight fans will see the X Factor acts - including bookies' favourite Cher Lloyd, 16 - battle it out for a place in the next stage of the TV talent show.
More than 200 acts made it through to the Wembley Arena auditions - screened over the last two nights - but just 32 acts will be chosen to move on to the judges' house rounds next week.
It is already known that Gamu makes it through to the judges' house stage and is being mentored by Cheryl Cole.
Cheryl and the other judges - Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue - will then pick their three finalists to go into the live rounds.
