SHOW bosses have put together THREE bands themselves to make sure there is strong enough competition this year.

And all three have made it through to the next stage of the competition.

Simon Cowell and his producers decided not enough girlbands were auditioning. So they joined four soloists - sexy blonde Rebecca Creighton, brunette Sophia Wardman who previously appeared in reality show Shipwrecked in 2007, indie-chick Geneva Lane and streetwise Esther Campbell - to form a yet-unnamed group.

Viewers will see them compete against rivals Husstle, whose line-up was boosted by the addition of solo singer Sam Grierson.

The third band, also unnamed yet, was pieced together from five male artists, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zany Malik and Niall Horan.

Liam, 18, a Zac Efron lookalike, first impressed the judges two years ago when he made it through to Judges House before being sent packing.

Husstle glamour girl Sam - who hit the headlines last August when she partied at Jack Tweed's flat just months after the death of his wife Jade Goody - originally auditioned with another band which failed to make the grade.

But viewers will see devastated Sam get another chance with her band's arch-rivals Husstle.

An X Factor source told us: "Simon adores the way Sam looks. He is hoping that she will give Husstle the style and the street cred he feels they lack."

Five other bands, all male, also do well. They include a camp duo called Diva Fever, French twins Twem, FYE who used to be backing dancers, Princes & Rogues and The Reason.

The show is overdue a group winning, but is it possible? I am not sure.

One of the male groups, (most likely the one with Liam in) will win.

JLS should have won and I imagine Cowell now realises this. There is a possibility if a group winning if they want them to.

Be interested in how the people in these groups get on with each over. In previous years it hasn't really worked because they seemingly haven't made an effort to get on. Disappointed that they haven't got the stage to themselves and stupidly not interested in sharing their potential success.

Agree that the boys one is more interesting but a female group going far might be one of the shows 'plans' this year. Something we haven't seen before(?)

Categories different to most of the early spoilers?

Early spoilers had:
DM - Overs
LW - Boys
SC - Girls
CC - Groups

Following recent press articles and Jeff Brazier seemed to confirm it on TM (did anyone catch that?) looks like:
DM - Boys
LW - Overs
SC - Groups
CC - Girls

Yes I caught it too Squares fairly obvious that the latest ones are correct have backed Danni winning mentor at 4/1 and Simon 1st eliminated at 9/2. Still trying to get more on. Overs look weak as do the groups thus far.

Cheers Topper.  I heard from across the room and just wanted some confirmation that what I heard was correct.

The early spoilers were before any of Judges' Houses stuff had taken place so these looking more up to date.

Interesting that every single category/mentor is different from the early ones.  Maybe done on purpose?  Maybe felt the groups category was a bit much for Cheryl after her illness?  I wouldn't have expected Danni to have the groups just because of the expense of getting them all to Australia.

So Louise was with the Overs in Ireland last week, and there were pics of Mary Byrne there.

SCowell is in Marbella with the groups atm, with all the press stuff about them trashing the place.

Not sure if CC's girls have been done yet, although Gamu was at the airport on her way to LA? last week so perhaps they have.

Think DM's will be the last to be finalised.

Cheers. Intersting. And that is why I read thus forum.

I hope Simon gets the girls. It would however make a lot of sense for a group to win.

Bang on re JLS shoulda won.And I shoulda won on em.  Though in totally fair world Vickers deserved to win. As infact it is likely that Gamu will deserve to win and won't. Burke WTF. Simon just showing off and showing that the GBP will do what he tells em. I think he just wanted street cred with the pop aristocracy that Burke belongs to.

Simon Cowell has altered the lineup of X Factor girlband Husstle for the final stages of the competition.

The 50-year-old told the four-piece that they would have a new member, 25-year-old Sam Grierson, when they reached the Boot Camp stage of the show.

Grierson, who previously auditioned with group Dice, was picked to boost the band's sex appeal.

"There is more eye candy now. There are more dolls to look at," Stacey Camps told the Daily Star. "We are happy about it. There's more spice now."

Speaking about rumours that Cowell was fixing it for them to reach the live shows by adding the new member, she added: "We auditioned like everyone else. There is no fix. It upset us when the other bands said that."

New member Grierson commented: "It was a bit worrying and difficult at first, but the girls have been supportive."

Speaking about tabloid reports that have linked her to Jade Goody's widower Jack Tweed, the singer added: "A lot of stuff has been made up and exaggerated."

The original Husstle troupe debuted on last weekend's show, impressing the judges with their rock version of 'Walk Like An Egyptian'.

It's not impossible for a group to win.  Journey South would've won had they been pushed and probably would have won had the show been a level playing field that year imo.

G4 would've won had Cowell mastered manipulating the audience as he does nowadays.

DS rumours suggesting

Hustle + extra member (pole dancer)
made-up girl band - Rebecca Creighton, etc.
made-up boy band - Liam Payne, etc.

are the finalists.

Think any bookies would offer odds on the made up bands if asked?

Yeah Clyde I think Simon could have got JLS in too if he had not gone Burke mad. As I said before I suspect his ego wanted to out do Soul to Soul ( Burkes mothers band} and prove that Simon Cowell is now pop.

FYD through instead of Husstle?
made-up boy band (Liam Payne, etc) possibly called New Direction Plain

Got a bit of FYD at 66/1, would love some odds on New Direction - should be single figures for sure.

33/1 good price on Nicolo too if the rumours are true that he's through to the live shows.

Usually am with you GB, but ND are very much an exception. Liam is already into the 5 figures of followers on facebook, and several thousand followers on twitter. Niall is also getting a fair bit of attention despite only appearing on the Xtra Factor. Would not be surprised if their opening price on here is 5's or lower, this is one group that really could take off.

Agree with jacknumbers here.

This reeks to me of SCowell wanting one of his groups to win,
probably boys as we know how hard it is to get girl groups to
progress.

CC was originally reported to have groups, then SCowell had them.
One of the problems with groups being how difficult it is for viewers/voters to relate to them as individuals - so we have Liam Payne (probably as front man) already well known with his back story, and Niall who will surely be adored by young girls/grans.

Although I do feel the girls they have put into their made-up girl band seem a lot nicer and more down to earth than the girls who are usually in girl groups on this.

Interesting to see two groups have progressed to the final of Must Be the Music - Missing Andy (the BritPop band) and the Pictures (rock Killers-type band), and I think they both performed first in their semi finals.

The "rules" must only apply to shows manipulated by SCowell!
