Why cant Rooney take a corner.

More to the point why does he take corners?

If you are a striker you should looking to score goals at every opportunity. Seems unlikely you are going to score that many stuck over by the corner flag. It seems as if he is frightened of the ball hitting his head.

If I may be excused for going back a few years, the same question arose when big Martin Chivers used to take corners for Spurs instead of doing what he was best at, which was being a nuisance in the area and putting the ball in the back of the net. I still don't understand the thinking in either instance.
