Anyone know whether it's strict goal difference or results between two matched teams in the final tables?

Thanks in advance - useless fifa site nightmare for finding anything!!

According to FIFA's official rules, tiebreaking procedures are in place if need be. In the event that two teams are tied, a distinction will be made based on goal differential followed by total goals.

In the somewhat unlikely event that a tie still exists, it will then come down to the head-to-head result between those two teams. If they are still tied after that, then the FIFA Organizing Committee will hold a random draw to determine who advances.

Was looking at Group B - Netherlands look practically locked on to win it, even 1.28 seems like value there.

+4 GD and only Chile and Aussies to play.

i thought that too.

if they beat australia theyve pretty much won it. but then i looked at the price against australia and its 1.28 also. theyre gonna beat australia anyway so may as well just back em to win that. though i suppose they could fail to win that and still win the group. but then they could win that game and still somehow lose the group, would take some extraordinary results though.

If they drew with Aussies (unlikely) then even a draw v Chile could still see them win the group I suppose, which is pretty decent backup for the bet.

Cancel that - too much heat, of course they need to win v Chile or Aus!

assuming Spain will mash both those two sides...

The ranking of teams in each group is based on:

    Points in all group matches
Goal difference in all group matches
Goals scored in all group matches
Points in matches between tied teams
Goal difference in matches between tied teams
Goals scored in matches between tied teams
    Drawing of lots

one suspects that based on last nights showing that Holland will beat Australia by at least 3 or 4 goals.. maybe 5 or 6

Going in to the final game V Chile the Dutch will have 6 pts and the goal difference will be around + 8

In a nutshell Holland have all but won the group.. Chile and Spain are playing for 2nd place.

Yep - priced them winning the group more like 1.1 at this point. Possible to lose it, but damn unlikely!

"Only Chile".LOL.

Chile's confidence might be dented a little by the time they play them. Wink

To be fair, Chile have put a bit of a doubt in this one now...crazy results. Sad

But leaving the bet, as it should still come in...
