Easily the most interesting of the perceived outsiders

Settled attack minded team with star striker and Premier League winner Dzeko in prime form.

Impressive qualification – couple of decent warm-up results over Ivory Coast and Mexico. Their first ever World Cup so hey they are excited to be there rather than worrying about getting injured before the club season starts again.

OK I hear you cry they’ve got the Argies first up – well probably the best time for that to be honest – get out of that alive and then the fixtures open up rather nicely. Nigeria and Iran in the group. Possibly the French (who they drew with in France when they last played) in the last 16. They have most of their games in European friendly conditions and relatively little travelling distance between games.

Momentum / freshness / everyone’s favourite second team / the exciting newcomers – it all snowballs and they are perfect winners – a great result for FIFA and their global game making us all forget that when they say global game what they mean is whoever gives them the most backhanders.

It will be fun and at the prices what’s not to like? All aboard

Recommended bets:
Outright: 240 (Betfair)
Highest scoring team 300 (Ski)
Dzeko: Highest Premier League Goalscorer 22 (Lad)

Give us a B……

All very well starting a thread with that title if you are a hairdresser from Brighton who frequents the Specials Forum.

Format yet to catch on elsewhere imo.

Otherwise interesting.

My favourite player from the team is Misimovic.

Fat, lazy, and useless defensively but one of the most gifted players around when it comes to creativity and passing. He takes the pens too. Love

should get through group and last 16 vs probably France is winnable. I've backed them to get through to QF @ 4.8

Nice thread AM - I'm on board. A very interesting outsider imho, with the chance of getting a good passage into the last 8.

Im on them-
outright,
to reach quarters and semi's,
Dzeko top tournament scorer and player of tournament.

Like the look of them, hoping for a good run for my money.

I'm in too. Think if your on Bosnia or even just expect them to do well then the 500/1 for Dzeko to be player of the tournament at VC is a no brainer and big value. If they are to do well in the competition then he will need to be in good form and scoring. Should maybe get to the quarters with their relatively easy draw and thats probably as far as they will manage but were they to get to the semi's then think he would be near the top of the shortlist for the award similar to Forlan getting it last time. If they did get to the semis or the final (very unlikely I know) then I'd foresee he would be a shorter price for the award than Bosnia to win it at each stage (obviously depends on other teams in it and who else is performing big) but Bosnia would still likely be the rank outsider in the outright betting. Were Bosnia to get to the semi's in their first World Cup then they will get a hell of a lot of coverage and therefore their star player Dzeko should too.

A decent performance if a slightly disappointing result.

Still key was to avoid a heavy defeat in terms of qualification.

Overall price lovers they are now shorter than pre-tournament despite losing their first game, something that must be a rare occurence.

Next time they play Argentina can only be the final....

Comedian.Argentina never broke sweat to beat them last night don't listen to all the EXPERTS on tv they were outclassed, Argentina just done what all great teams do and won in a canter upping the pace when needed.

you're either a wind up merchant or you know nothing about football. stick to blindly praising england. at least you can be forgiven for misguided patriotism then.

well argentina were v lucky  - bosnia gave up a horror goal right at the start - bosnia played very well and when it went 2-1 for the last few minutes - things got pretty tight there for the argies...

Bosnia should cruis through this group. Iran and Nigeria look very weak sides, there for the taking.
